I was losing my mind during this stretch

Hard to figure out which game in Milwaukee I loved most between this one and last year’s “4th quarter game”

by Option27 on Feb 5, 2012 11:54 AM CST via mobile reply actions

I'd say last years

Because it was the 4th quarter, and he had better overall numbers anyway.

Supporter of Carlos Austin Boozer, and I don't want to see Dwight Howard in a Bulls uniform. Call me crazy.

I was freaking put as well.

Btw, the camera looks excellent in the video

Now Tayne I can get into.

I missed this game

Holy shit the milwakee fans there are pathetic.

there just weren't a lot of them

they have 1/6 the population of chicago in the first place, and most of that fanbase lives an hour or hour and a half drive away. or walking distance in my case. Also, the bucks suck even worse with bogut down (again) and the bulls are awesome and tickets to bucks games are easier to get. Basically, I am not going to blame anybody for that unfortunate situation. Simply a numbers game. It was a home game, essentially.

That said, it was the most fun game i have ever attended. about 2/3 stadium bulls fans, all trying to be very loud at any opportunity to do so, and the tension between the 2 rowdy crowds produced an amazing atmosphere.

I keep hearing

That the arena over there is smaller therefore more noise than over here..

yep

as i’ve pointed out before, the UC is actually the physically biggest arena in the country – and not the biggest seating wise. makes for a noise vacuum. it has really bad acoustics.

Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

wha?
United Center’s acoustics were designed to amplify the noise level in order to recreate “The Roar” – the din of noise that made Chicago Stadium famous, especially during hockey games.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Center

unless they threw up a bunch of traps in the ceiling area, a big open arena will just result in reflections (read: echoes) bouncing all around up there. thus creating a ‘din’. i could see intelligibility being ass at the UC, but not “noise vacuum”.

I love seasons too. That's why I live in a place that skips the shitty ones.

by thatshortkid on Feb 6, 2012 3:37 PM CST up reply actions

eh, maybe i used the wrong word

regardless, the acoustics in there aren’t good.

Thanks for posting this

i was always like to hear the other announcers when Rose is going off like that

by lowkeyman on Feb 5, 2012 12:06 PM CST reply actions

I dunno if anyone picked up on it, but Rose’s brothers were sitting courtside at the game. You see them for the first few seconds of the video. His oldest brother, I think, is the one talking to the blonde.

shitty about the acoustics

cos I’m going to see the black keys at the UC. :(

Let us cavort like the Greeks of old! You know the ones I mean.

arenas are tough places in general for shows

but if the black keys have good sound guys, it’ll be fine.

i’ve seen a few shows at the garden here and some bands sound better than others. totally depends on who is working the booth. the only show i’ve ever seen at the UC was the 2nd to last smashing pumpkins show in 2000 – and there was nothing wrong with the sound that night.

acoustics for trying to be as loud as possible

And trying get a band heard are different.

I assume you want to hear what they’re lip syncing singing, not just an indecipherable roar.

On the first possesion

I noticed Boozer didn’t slip the screen and Rose got WIDE open.

by tuluse on Feb 6, 2012 10:29 AM CST reply actions

Well that's because Boozer's man was sagging off pretty heavily

Boozer slips a lot of screens, but he’s not a dumbass. He knows that slipping the screen is only effective when the big comes out to hedge.

Pat Riley is the devil.

i watched the game finally

in the milwaukee broadcast (meaning i saw the original game then finally downloaded the milwaukee broadcast, same quality as this video) its so worth it, and there were alot of seeders so it took like 10 minutes for anyone wanting to do the same. Its worth it. Its hilarious, the old veteran player buck announcer was really irked by the players, i think he considered that if he was playing on home court filled with fans cheering for the opposition he would do whatever in his power to shut them up. But he also had tons of respect for rose and the bulls. Near the end of the broadcast he was upset that milwaukee had no tolls or something, and then suggested that all state troopers get out to the state border to nab some speeding bulls fans.

It should be noted though, that those buck announcers are head and shoulders better than stacey and niel, i mean they were homers, without completely shitting on anyone on our team and giving us some respect…

I had to watch on FSWisconsin because the WGN broadcast was apparently blacked out here.

I actually like the Bucks anouncers, Jon McGlocklin typically drops a lot of knowledge during games. I just don’t like them when MY team is playing the Bucks. When the Bulls are playing I want either Bulls homerism, or total impartiality. Stacey is at least an entertaining homer, Neil on the other hand lends a more irritating form of homerism to broadcasts.

McGlocklin was pissed off about the crowd, which I couldn’t blame him for. I was really surprised not by the number of Bulls fans at the game, but at the virtual no show by Bucks fans. After all, they just beat the Heat at home, yet seemed to adopt a position of hopelessness regarding this game before it even started. I actually got a chuckle out of the tolls-state troopers comment because of all the money I’ve spent on tolls in Illinois, and i’ve been pulled over by Illinois State Troopers before for driving with Wisconsin licence plates(okay I may have vioiated some sort of arcane traffic law).

Get ready for that 7th banner Chicago...it's '90-'91 all over again!

bulls fans bought their tickets weeks in advance

the recent heat win did not enter into it.
