4-step plan how the Bulls can become the best

As of lately I have heard a lot of smack talk coming from ESPN. Them saying that the Bulls are good but will lose to either New York or Miami. I am just about done with that. So why not make some trades and/or signs that will shut them up and make it a little big easier on Derrick Rose.

Trade for O.J. Mayo: D Rose has once again not had a SG. Rip Hamilton has missed game after game and now enough is enough. I am done with Rip so now the Bulls need to trade for a new SG. That SG is O.J. Mayo, he is a great shooter especially in the mid-range and can play not only in the two guard but also in the Point and Small Forward. But the true problem that lies within is how the Bulls could get Mayo. Rip Hamilton has little to no value due to his injuries and I don't know if the Grizzlies would take C.J. Watson and a draft pick. The only way to find out is to pursue it. But I will say I would give Hamilton a chance but he has shown that he cannot stay healthy.

Give Noah the ball: Everyone already knows that Noah is an outstanding passer but what he is most underrated at is shooting. That is mostly thanks to D Rose and Noah’s weird jump shot. Everyone knows that I love D Rose and that Rose deserves every second he Is on the floor. But somebody needs to let Noah take more shots. He is a great shooter and deserves at least three more shoots per game. But still Noah is a great offensive rebounder and has shown this ability a great ammount especially in the Atlanta Hawks game with 5 offensive rebounds. When was the last time Dwight Howard had done that?

Trade or sign a better backup PG: The first guy I come to think of is Allen Iverson. AI would be a solid backup for both Guards. For trading I can currently think of three guys the Bulls could trade for: Ramon Sessions, Jonny Flynn, D.J. Augustin. All three, very sturdy backups but all three have pretty big values. So each one could possibly take a first rounder, but I will say that out of anyone I would love D.J. Augustin on the Bulls roster.

Do not trade for Dwight Howard: Right now the Bulls have four great big men so why would you want to break them apart? Right now Joakim Noah is showing why he had received that big contract and Boozer has been playing great. The Bulls have the best backup big men in the NBA with Omer Asik and Taj Gibson. The Bulls would terribly hurt themselves by trading for Howard and would bring in someone that is in the NBA for nothing but money and fame. Also the Bulls would be trading Luol Deng for Hedo Turkoglu. C'mon does that seem fair?

Anyone else have any ideas on how the Bulls could possibly become better? Let me know in the comments.

Give Noah the ball????

On the list of things that could help the Bulls this should be dead last, right? I’ve often told people that if I coached the Bulls I would never call a single play for Noah in an entire season.
He’s a good passer FOR A BIG MAN not for an NBA basketball player in general. He should not be used as a playmaker and he definitely is the worst scorer on the team besides Asik.
So, use him as he is being used, as a clean-up guy and once in a blue moon shot-taker.

nope

You’re very very wrong, he’s not the beat offensive big man, but he’s very effective at the high post.

I almost stopped reading after you said trade CJ for Mayo

I wish I did so I wouldn’t see Flynn as a potential backup…

getting Mayo for Cj

Would be a robbery, Cjs okay but Mayo is way better.

The point is

Grizzles wanted Taj…don’t think they’d take CJ

From the way he's been playing this year

I think I’m gonna go out on a stable limb here and say……Mayo’s likely not going anywhere anymore. He’s been the Grizz’s best player of the bench and he’s embraced that 6th man role.

I don’t want Iverson….period. Flynn is meh, Sessions would be hard to pry away, and Augustin is likely a no.

Great ideas though.

DJ Augustin would be a great backup PG actually. Noah should only take like two jumpers a game max just to keep the defense honest.

No way we can get Augustin

He’s a very solid starter. He has some good value, it would be hard to trade for him I think.

But maybe with Kemba taking over the PG spot I am wrong. I just don’t see them parting ways with their best player easily.

Augustin is better than Maggette in my opinion

I have to disagree on all 4 points

I think #1 and #3 are marginal upgrades for the Bulls at best. They certainly arent going to be gamechangers, so I dont really want to give up anything significant for them.

Maybe I just dont like all 4 points because they arent very original and have been raised by other people before. At least the Pau Gasol/DRose rumor is interesting (even if untrue), because its out of left field.

I will suggest something completely insane, precisely because it is so. The Bulls trade Joakim Noah and the Charlotte pick for the 2nd pick in the upcoming draft to get Andre Drummond!

Trade Noah? Really? I would only trade him for someone with more confidence and has more upside than Noah. I personally don’t feel comfortable trading a great well rounded player like Noah for a rookie.

I went back and forth at least three times while reading this trying to decide whether or not it was a joke.

AI, that was a joke, right? The current backup SG and PG for the Bulls are both superior to a washed-up-even-for-Turkey Iverson. Of the other three guards you mention, Sessions is the only one that makes sense to me, given that Augustin is his teams best player and a legit NBA starter (not a good one, but still) and thus will not come cheap enough to make sense as a backup, and given that Johnny Flynn sucks balls (and again, is worse than Brewer and CJ.)
That said, I do agree that Noah is an underrated passer and play-maker. However, I think his lack of shots has a lot to do with a lack of confidence, as it seems to me that he turns down open looks regularly.
