for the JR Smith lovers, here's Jr's 60 point game from yesterday. Not a likely signing but hey..

tbh, i think the bulls can SIGN him

all competing teams can only offer him VET MIN. The icebreaker is the guaranteeing him next yr a multiyr contract. i would say 4 yrs 32 mill is a fair deal and its doable.

not entirely true

Know this list:

Orlando should just do it, for fun.

I think JR is concerned about money first and foremost, else he likely wouldn’t have gone to China in the first place.

I think we should change our expression of "Bulls can only offer vet min"

to bulls are only willing to offer vet min. They can use BAE but would go over the tax. And Reinsdorf refuses to go over the tax for Derrick Rose (another new expression I’m trying out)

Hey lets start the process of using that as the next tag line. By the time Derrick leaves in 2017 we may be able to get another one.

While I agree he probably loves money (who doesn’t?), JR seems like a hard-headed tool. I could see someone like that to go off to China knowing they could not come back just as a big “fuck you” to the league.

God he must feel like he is playing with pre-schoolers and he has no shame shooting from anywhere right over them or just running through them. He also looks funny with hair. I would like him on the bulls on paper but it would never work out as it didnt when we had him on the roster before.

maybe playing in china will make him more mature

Put that together with his ability to score, seems like a good report card to me.
Then again maybe his maturity can not be changed, if that was the real reason
we traded him away.

Maybe he's grown up since the last time he was with the bulls. I know he's not the Bull's F.O. typical

player, hard hat lunch pail, but this team needs some more athleticism and 3 point shooting. Just give him the vet minimum and then promise to sign him to a multi year contract afterwards. Depending on how he plays if he signs with the Bulls, maybe it’ll be worth the signing, if not he can always sign with another team after the season if he doesn’t like the Bulls offer.

On the J.R. Smith bandwagon until otherwise advised.

i read something about him

not really considering the knicks because they only have the mini MLE. would he take the vet min from the bulls? on the other hand, maybe he does since then he gets to try again in the summer… whether it be from us or someone else… whereas he wouldn’t sign for the mini MLE for multiple years… i don’t know..

Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

Couldn't the Bulls let both Brewer and Korver go? J.R. brings almost the same things

as both players. It would give the Bulls about 10 mil off the books, plus Butler maybe can bring whatever defense Brewer might leave behind.

On the J.R. Smith bandwagon until otherwise advised.

by BlackStar on Feb 2, 2012 11:43 AM CST up reply actions

yeah, im all for that b.c smith brings more to the table than korver and brewer combined

butler will def become important next yr and he can def take over brewers spot without any problem.

i think it's up for debate

whether that’s “without any problem…”

No

that kills my plan of amnestying Booz and letting all those guys go plus trading JoNo to any team that can absorb his salary. Why are we doing all that you ask? To sign Dwight Howard in the offseason.
