CJ is not a point guard.
He’s a chucker that shoots sub-40 percent. He’s not a terrible ball-player, but we’ve seen how ball movement can make some mediocre players out up nice numbers. There’s no reason the bench can’t be better scoring the ball with better ball movement.

The majority of the Bulls’ losses have been blowouts this year, and all but the Celtics loss have been because of threes.
I don’t care what the stats say, the Bulls do not play good enough three point defense this year, nor do they have enough three point shooting to equalize what opponents do. I see this as a real issue.
I know that the Nets have a star and we dont (today), but the story of the game is Williams’ five threes.

Personally I think New Jersey is better than their record and reputation. Plus the Bull suck during the day for some reason, and with their lack of offensive firepower, they have no business taking any team lightly, which it appears like they’ve done today.
We have a lot of really good players, but damn are they inconsistent offensively. That’s why Rose is so key (obviously) and also why Rip would be extremely helpful.

isn’t cj 5-2, lucas 1-1 while starting? and arguably if cj had played more in that memphis game, we could have stood a better chance.

I'm not absolutely trashing CJ either
it’s just that Rose does SO much for our team. CJ couldn’t possibly hold his own and it bugs me that that is so blatantly obvious. I am angriest though with those who say that “Bulls are 7-2 w/o Rose” when we’ve clearly played substandard opponents in that time. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; without Rose, we are a .500 team

oh, don't get me wrong
i definitely acknowledge the weakness of the opponents we’ve been playing – especially when compared w/ our record w/out deng. we played the best three teams we’ve faced recently without him in the lineup so it’s a bit unfair.
i don’t think we’re a .500 team without rose. but it’s also a bit different since we’re missing 2 starters. are we a .500 team without rip and rose? maybe. are we a .500 team without just rose? there’s no way to know what the offense would look like when it is just derrick missing.
but it is clear that people get spoiled by what rose does – of course cj is going to look weak compared to the MVP. but he’s doing an OK job. is he someone i’d really want as the full time starter? no, but i do think it’s unfair to accuse him of not holding down the fort either.
