if they release mike james again

im gonna go apeshit. that’s a POINT GUARD. not CJ watson, who has clearly shown he is more of a SHOOTING guard (which is not a bad thing at all, TBH).

Under construction.

Let's not get down on CJ

He’s still really good, and when we have Derrick, I still think he’s the better backup. But when Derrick’s out, you can jst see that we need someone to make plays from that position

This is why I hate this forum sometimes. Everyone is hugging Mike James' nuts

He had a very nice game, although he had some real idiotic plays late. If I copied and pasted the comments from the Washington game, you guys say the exact same thing about Lucas. Now you all say he sucks. You can’t judge players on one game, good or bad. Yeah, James had a good game but he’s been in the league for like 13 years and nobody wants him. He’s not all of the sudden talented. Let’s not get carried away with 2 good games that he’s had for us.

He played a great game and I’ll give him credit. I’m just saying let’s not say he’s better than CJ or anything better than a 3rd guard in the league right now long term for us. I’m sure you guys will be dumping on him next week. I’m glad we found someone to take JLIII’s minutes though, we can all agree on that.

i dont think anyones actually said something ridiculous about mike james except wanting him to play in the game, and as thibs showed (by playing him in the game the entire 4th really) he was definetly a key reason for the win.

If someone starts talking about mike james getting a starting job while cj is out (bballsmurf…) then thats crazy, but so far ive just read a bunch of ’mike james bitch" comments…

James also had three turnovers and 6 fouls in 17 minutes.

It’s not that he played great, it’s that the other PGs played so badly.

by Tim S. on Feb 16, 2012 10:34 PM CST up reply actions

well he got Boozer involved

which changed the entire game. We have quality bigs that Cj and Lucas ignore for no reason other than to jack up a wild shot.

James brings a steady pace to the game.

by MartyMondays on Feb 16, 2012 10:35 PM CST up reply actions

theres this idea

That the bench mob has no offense and needs Cj to jack it up. I honestly think mike James would run it better. He moves the ball and good things happen its simple.

Let Cj play sg for short stints and give mike James some minutes, he’s out played Cj both times he’s played.

yeah he can

by MartyMondays on Feb 16, 2012 10:02 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

how many times does cj come in

For like 3 minutes, throw up a brick, turn the ball over, then Thibs puts rose right back in for the entire game.

It seems like it happens a lot

by MartyMondays on Feb 16, 2012 10:04 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

He doesn't need to

All he needs to do is be an actual PG. It will open up the floor and create better shots for the benchmob. You can even give Boozer more minutes with them so James can run PnR. CJ isn’t s PG.

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Feb 16, 2012 10:06 PM CST up reply actions

the bench mob consists of one offensive weapon outside of the pg

and thats korver…..having cj and korver opens things up for taj and brewer. mike james can run the floor as well as he wants, hes not fucking steve nash or chris paul, hes not gonna suddenly make guys better around him, his ability to ‘run’ and offense isnt going to make korver get anymore open……

Waiting for the Prodigal Son to Return KH12 BITCHES!!!!

by piccolomair on Feb 16, 2012 10:08 PM CST up reply actions

to add some more

the bench mobs role has always been to basically defend the crap out of teams while the starters got some rest by completely negating any influence another teams bench could have. I dont think you get that with mike james. Mike james looked more mortal when he was out there with taj and asik as opposed to being out there with boozer and deng….

Waiting for the Prodigal Son to Return KH12 BITCHES!!!!
In the Chemi-meter we trust!

by piccolomair on Feb 16, 2012 10:10 PM CST up reply actions

Thibs could be smart

in that case and run boozer with the bench mob some.

by MartyMondays on Feb 16, 2012 10:13 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

Why settle?

CJ is basically being a “hit or miss” alternative to Rose isn’t any better. CJ and Korver is going to get the same shots regardless of who the PG is, but having someone who can actually run an offense can create better opportunities for easy baskets may actually generate better results. We just watched it in this game compared to Sunday when CJ just shot himself out the gym.

I think you’re underestimating what an actual PG instead of a gunner playing PG, can actually do for an offense. You can play Boozer some with James and the Mob and get much better results from that group.

Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

by Dils on Feb 16, 2012 10:14 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

exactly

He’s just not a pg, and he’s not good enough of a scorer to completely make up for it. Is rather have a guy like James come off the bench, his game isn’t flashy but I feel like the way he plays can be done consistensy. Cjs 3’s aren’t reliable.

vdn coached the bulls

and literally just ran one play, high screen and roll. Sometimes the side he ran it on were different, but it was always the same. His end of the game play was a floppy curl action above the freethrow line….

watch the clippers…thats all they run as well. The clippers are winning on talent alone, and i bet it will come to bite them in the ass come playoffs. If they play san antonio, dallas, or any other good veteran team, they will get trounced

There's honestly no point to keeping John Lucas III on this roster.

Mike James isn’t that good but he at least looks like he belongs on the same court as other professional players from time to time. Lucas had one decent game against a trainwreck of a team and hasn’t done shit since.

And to be honest

His “one good game” wasn’t even really a good game. Wasn’t he like 8-24 with like 7 TOs in that game. He was just the least of the jokes in a game filled with em.

yeah i mean he took 28 shots

to get like 28 pts… and it took him 45 minutes to get 8 assists. and he’s the point guard.

Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

Poor Trailblazers.

It’s like they stole the Aztec gold of Cortez and until they give it back they’ll keep losing players to injury. If only they hadn’t strapped Darius Miles to a cannon and dropped him to the bottom of the sea…

Out West, Mavs are starting to click, I think the Spurs will hit the wall eventhough they have been playing well...

Clips, Mavs and Thunder have the best shot I think.

The Spurs are legit.

They’ve done all of this missing Manu for most of the season and their young players are coming along really well. Pop, as usual, has done a great job with that squad. Oh, Tony Parker and Tim Duncan are balling right now.

by dakoose on Feb 16, 2012 10:37 PM CST up reply actions

no post up players besides no acl guy I cant remember his name atm who can do some of that but is small, Duncan can't post up anymore for the most part...

Parker does play well. Not sure about Manu when he will get back. They are a perimeter team that relies on the jump shot now and their core are older. I think they fade away in the playoffs, they do have a great coach so there is that.

They don't rely as much on the jumper as you think.

Parker gets most of his points in the paint, Duncan still gets his, they have a young slasher in Leonard and a decent frontcourt depth with Blair and Splitter. They don’t shoot all that high a volume of three’s either(13th most attempts per game).

There’s no real clear cut monster in the West; I wouldn’t put my money on San Antonio but I wouldn’t be that shocked if they came out of the West.

by dakoose on Feb 16, 2012 10:54 PM CST up reply actions

OKC was supposed to be the monster,

but the Spurs are right there with them, and the Clippers and Mavs aren’t far behind.

by Tim S. on Feb 17, 2012 1:15 AM CST up reply actions

theres gonna be a bunch of trades happening the west

teams like denver and lakers are a trade or two away from suddenly becoming possible contenders. Lakers might just land dwight howard, and denver might get nash. the east is top heavy, but id say the two best two teams are definetly in the east. The west is a bit more competetive, but i think the trade deadline is gonna change that. Cant wait till trade deadline

I don't see a trade making Denver much better,

since their strength is depth. But a trade could make the Lakers much, much better. All they need are decent players at PG and SF.

by Tim S. on Feb 16, 2012 10:39 PM CST up reply actions

They could strike a deal for Dwight,

but with no guarantee of resigning, odds are it never happens. They can offer a helluva package, though.

by dakoose on Feb 16, 2012 10:49 PM CST up reply actions

Oh, and the Lakers trading for Howard

will not make them much better this season, since they presumably would have to trade Bynum, Gasol, or both to get Howard.

by Tim S. on Feb 16, 2012 10:41 PM CST up reply actions

LOL, well the Clips don't look like contenders atm
