Kirk Hinrich injury: Bulls PG to start vs. Grizzlies, Marquis Teague must 'stay ready'

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

Kirk Hinrich will start at point guard for the Bulls when they play the Grizzlies on Monday night. Nate Robinson will handle backup duties and who knows what happens to Marquis Teague.

The oft-injured Kirk Hinrich will return from a brief two-game hiatus due to a knee injury when the Bulls take on the Grizzlies Monday night. Hinrich has seemingly injured nearly every part of his body so far this season, but none of his injuries have been all that serious.

Naturally, Hinrich will be back in the starting lineup upon his return and Marquis Teague will probably be back to the end of the bench. At least, that's what I would infer from Tom Thibodeau's comments today:

Teague took full advantage of Hinrich's injury, looking like a competent point guard against both Jrue Holiday and Deron Williams the past two games. Even more impressive is the fact that Teague did much of his work in crunch time, and he was especially key in getting the win over the Nets.

Of course, I certainly didn't expect Thibodeau to drastically change things up just because of a couple of games. Hinrich has been performing better of late, so he wasn't going to see his role diminished because of a minor injury. However, I will say it would be nice to see Teague still get some minutes, especially if Hinrich or Nate Robinson really struggle.
