Jonathan Daniel
[This was in the FanPosts, but I was thinking of a similar idea for a post today and figured just promote this one as a new story. It also means I don't have to directly say anything nice about Kirk Hinrich. His '1 three per game' streak may soon reach Rondo-ian proportions!
One other note I'd like to make is that though we figured when Belli was announced as the starter that Jimmy Butler would still get a majority of the minutes, but instead he's down to 16mpg in the last three contests -yfbb]
So after reading some of the comments on the other thread, I pulled up some of the Statscube numbers to see how my boy Marco "White Jordan" [Jordan Crawford? -yfbb] Bellinelli does with the starters.
Seeing as to how Deng and Noah are part of both the starters and bench, and if Boozer is on the floor chances are we're playing a bunch of scrubs, I decided to look up the on/off court numbers for Hinrich and Belli.
As many suspected, he does play a lot better with Kurt, scoring 18.6 points per 36 minutes, and shooting 52% in the 12 games they played together. Remember, this includes his shitty start to the season. With Kurt on the bench, his FG% drops to 35%, and his 3PT% goes from 44% to 37% (also notice the significant drops in FG, 3PT and FT attempts).
Kurt also appears to play marginally better with Beli, including a scoring hot 41% FG% (by Kurt standards) and an unsustainable 56% from deep.
Maybe we were just hiding Belli on the bench till we re-sign him ;) I guess I'll have to wait and see how he does against the Clippers before coming to any conclusions, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has another solid outing.
