Dennis Wierzbicki-US PRESSWIRE

Bulls forward Luol Deng sprained his thumb after getting blocked by the Thunder's Serge Ibaka.

Bulls small forward Luol Deng sprained his left thumb late in the team's 97-91 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, per ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell:

"I jammed my thumb," Deng said after the game. "Just got to ice it, treat it."

Deng injured the thumb after getting brutally rejected by Serge Ibaka down low. Lu could be seen grasping at his hand as he ran back on defense, but he remained in the game and knocked down a jumper soon after suffering the injury. He finished the night with a game-high 27 points on 11-of-21 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three.

As we all know, Deng is already playing with a torn ligament in his left wrist. He got off to a somewhat slow start shooting in the first few games, immediately bringing up some concerns about the wrist. Before Thursday's games, he had made just 1-of-11 from three.

But Deng has heated up in the last few games, and hopefully this thumb thing is as minor as it appears. The Bulls need Lu playing at a high level to carry the scoring load.
