Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Getting our first taste of the 2012-13 Bulls tonight.

The Bulls open their preseason schedule tonight at the United Center against the Grizzlies.

Joakim Noah, though he missed missing some practice this week dealing with a personal matter, will start tonight. Thibs also offered some clues as to what to expect in the game:

Coach Tom Thibodeau said he would play his starters roughly 7-8 minutes to open each half, depending on foul trouble. He also stressed the need for a revamped second unit to develop chemistry.

"I don't know where we are conditioning-wise, so we'll get a look at that," Thibodeau said. "Usually, I try to stay within seven or eight minutes and then start our subbing there. They may get in again. We'll see how we're looking. It's also important for both units to find some rhythm. We need for them to play together. That has to be a priority right now."

There had been talk earlier in the week that Nazr Mohammed would start in Noah's place, so thankfully we won't have to see that.

I really enjoyed Bulls Confidential's preview of the game, highlighting things to look for in what is essentially a meaningless game. Among those most interesting include seeing how Deng looks with his left wrist, and the process at which the Bulls starting lineup will try to generate offense.

Gametime is at 7pm and is going to be shown locally on CSNChicago, and nationally on NBATV.
