The KIA postgame highlight of the game was Scal’s fadeaway J

by Bullforlife on Jan 9, 2012 9:28 PM CST reply actions

I like how Thibs

fucks with Scal after the game. “Don’t take that shot”…and before Scal realizes what’s going on he’s like OH GOD I’M DOOMED.

Hahaha

by Joninja on Jan 9, 2012 10:11 PM CST up reply actions

Lu probably deserves to be an All Star when you consider his all around game

but I don’t see how he get’s in if he continues to put up stinkers every few games like tonight, and the Atlanta game. The numbers just won’t be there.

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

by Juiceboxjerry on Jan 9, 2012 9:32 PM CST reply actions

I was just htinking that.

And I’m thinking bout Noah as well, he didn’t attempt a field goal!

That shit crayy

by OdwallaJuicish on Jan 9, 2012 9:39 PM CST up reply actions

he is making a highlight reel

in the close games that get mentioned on sportscenter, so he might get in.

by Nih1lus on Jan 9, 2012 9:40 PM CST up reply actions

On Sportscenter they just show like two Rose highlights and the final score

Which isn’t really a big deal anyway considering it’s the coaches that will have to get Lu in, but I just cant see him making it with the numbers he currently has.

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

by Juiceboxjerry on Jan 9, 2012 9:48 PM CST up reply actions

if he can bounce back enough

no one will remember these two games. especially a game where the whole team sucked. too early to say.

Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

by Jaina on Jan 9, 2012 9:52 PM CST up reply actions

Yeah, he'll absolutely bounce back

but even when he’s playing great, he doesn’t produce numbers that really pop out at you. That’s really my point. As much as the coaches want to reward players on winning teams (which they’ve done in the past), I have a hard time seeing it unless Lu really busts out offensively

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

by Juiceboxjerry on Jan 9, 2012 9:56 PM CST up reply actions

i think if he can get back to like 18ppg

he could get it. but he def took a step backwards with these last two..

Look

its obviously fatigue

he looks gassed. Hell bounce back.

by Geo4MVP on Jan 9, 2012 10:14 PM CST up reply actions

the real thing about the all star thing

is the melo/stoudemire problem. one of them will get voted in. but you can’t legit leave the other out, can you? but then like… the knicks fucking suck.

He’s regressed this year.

i think he just pushing it

hes focusing on the wrong parts of the game that hes not good at. For example, trying to post up and and toss up a ridiculous hook shot. He needs to stick to his high energy game ON DEFENSE and from there on everything will come back to him.

by Geo4MVP on Jan 9, 2012 9:56 PM CST up reply actions

i thought he was better tonight

he rebounded, he played D, and he didn’t try to do anything outside of his ability.

by Basketball Smurf on Jan 9, 2012 10:00 PM CST up reply actions

…he didn’t try to do anything outside of his ability.

like attempt a FG?

well, yes

i’m fine with Noah shooting put backs and with the occasional hook shot, but he isn’t an offensive player. And when he shares the floor with 3 superior offensive players (4 when Hamilton gets back) he should concentrate on bringing out his inner tyson chandler or ben wallace.

by Basketball Smurf on Jan 9, 2012 10:09 PM CST up reply actions

I'm starting to think this is more of a result of the injuries taking some of his athleticism away

Noah was never a Tyrus level athlete, but he was pretty athletic in his own right. He just doesn’t seem as quick all around. Recovering on defense, driving the ball, moving up and down the court, second and third efforts for rebounds.. everything just seems a touch slow.

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

by Juiceboxjerry on Jan 9, 2012 10:04 PM CST up reply actions

are you implying he might be currently hurt?

or just that all of his injuries over the past few seasons have taken their toll on his long-term health?

I’m hoping he’s not permanently damaged goods at age 25 or whatever..

by Rose Colored Goggles on Jan 9, 2012 10:05 PM CST up reply actions

Idk, maybe a combination of the two

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

by Juiceboxjerry on Jan 9, 2012 10:10 PM CST up reply actions

Well he's spent a lot of time in the gym bulking up

So that’s probably a contributor to his losing quickness

Pat Riley is the devil.

by Poloplaya14 on Jan 9, 2012 10:06 PM CST up reply actions

It's the bulking up that's slowing him down

and I’m fine with that, he used to get pushed around too much before. IMO it wasn’t worth the quickness, he’s been more of a bully this and last year and i think that’s a good thing. His numbers are never going to be great, but he’s a good player, and he makes clutch plays with hustle and heart. I think the numbers don’t truly show his impact on a game.

by MartyMondays on Jan 9, 2012 11:18 PM CST up reply actions

well its because he isnt howard on defense... i mean..i9 am not saying we need howard...

but the fact is that the concept is that boozer needs a solid defensive center that can help mask boozer on the defensive end and also a team with goodhelp defense….
if the noah/booz isnt working… IMO its more noah… if boozer gets a 16-18ppg avg with 8-12 rbs…then its noah not being the defender he is stuppose to be… he isnt rebounding like last year,,, and he is getting called for so many stupid fould…and i am not on the boat that his physical abilities arent what they used to be….

I'm hesitant to rip all the Scalabrine loons because I'm pretty sure

if I was at the game and had 3-4 drinks in me I’d be screaming with the rest of em just for fun. But gd if it’s not annoying as hell when you’re watching from home

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

I don't know how you win by 24

when the game didn’t visually look like they played that well. I think sometimes it’s hard to see how great a defense is until you look at the final score. And of course, Detroit sucks.

Detroit sucks.

THIS.

I take next to nothing from this game. Nobody got injured, and our main guys didn’t have to play 40 minutes. That’s about the only accomplishment.

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

by Juiceboxjerry on Jan 9, 2012 9:59 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

i think he still relies on off ball movement which wont be effective against elite defensive teams.

I agree for the most part

but both he and Deng have looked better off the dribble this season than at any point last year.

by Rose Colored Goggles on Jan 9, 2012 10:12 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

Yep

Nobody got injured, and our main guys didn’t have to play 40 minutes. That’s about the only accomplishment.

And early season last year, this was not the case. The Kings were hard to beat, the Pistons were hard to beat. These teams are no longer hard to beat.

by JockstrapNoah on Jan 9, 2012 10:20 PM CST up reply actions

and the team was relatively new

that was a big facotr and since thye have a yr of exp playing together, they are now accustomed to working a unit more consistently.

so if I get my shot blocked, it counts as a missed FG right?

if you then grab the ball after its been blocked, does that count as a rebound?

Not sure, good question

Although, yeah, I’m pretty sure it’s a rebound. But maybe it’s just not a stat. Maybe it’s just like gathering a pass

derrick is really struggling with his shooting so far.

his finishing has been excellent though.

His 3pt shooting is the problem.

If you discounted all 3pt shots, I’d bet he is above 50%

This was the funniest and it wasn't in the comments but from the preview/game thread:
At 2-3, the Pistons were actually inspiring some hope in its fanbase. They had just won their second straight and outrebounded an opponent for the third straight game. Then the Pistons played the Bulls in front of 173 people at The Palace and the proverbial wheels flew off and the rims have been getting completely ruined ever since.
