Omer Asik intro fail.

Someone needs to get Tommy Edwards off autopilot.

Edwards is awful

but I doubt that was his fault, someone else dropped the ball with the late Noah scratch.

c'mon

It’s like his main job. The rest of the game he just calls out who makes the shots and subs, etc. He’s gotta get that right. He’s got to have an assistant who checks that stuff, right? Where’s the breakdown in the chain of command?

I also remember the Boozer/Deng screwup at the opener last year. I can understand that being 2 Duke guys playing forward, etc.

The Deng Boozer wasn't his fault either, that was Lu's, he came out because he assumed he was gonna be announced first.

And I actually think Edwards is really good at what he does. I hate the obnoxious PA guys sooo much, which is just about every other NBA team. Edwards does it perfectly.

THEO!

easy to get confused when they are both "6'9, from duke..." lol

Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

i like the way he calls games, but I wish he would stop saying pronouncing Omer's last name as "Ashick"

i’m glad he already dropped referring to Rip as “Richard Rip Hamilton” after every damn shot he made. only other thing he ever did that I found really annoying was “Marcus Fizer Senior”

Agreed with the Asik thing.

And in response to Ozzie, I guess I wouldn’t know if he says the wrong player, seeing as I go to, like, one game a year. With that said, I still like him.

THEO!

Don't you think it should be

the organizations job to get Tommy the info since he does work for them? This is not on Tommy.

I like Tommy. Definetly not his fault.

You always were second best! And in this business, Bub, second best don't *cut* it!

I miss Ray Clay.

YEEEEAAAAAAAAND NOW! THA STARTIN LINEUP!!! FOR YOUR WORLD CHAMPION!!! CHICAGOBULLS!!! duuuunnnnnnnnn

Good lord, those 97 and 98 intros still give me goosebumps. And I wasn’t in High School then. Everybody knew we’d never see anything like that second dynasty again. Those 3 years were easily the sports highlights of my life thus far. I doubt anything could top that intro sequence. From production to execution, it was utter perfection, and the standard to which all player/character intro sequences from the NBA to the WWE are held. Nothing can top those sequences in my mind.

yep,

never understood why he didn’t have the job anymore.

Basically, cuz of MJ.

When MJ returned as a Wizard, Ray wanted to introduce him as he introduced him on the Bulls (“From NORTH!!! Caro-LINA!!! At Guard!! Six-Six! Michael! Jordan!”). One of the Jerrys gave him the directive to introduce MJ just like any other visiting player. Clay was fired at the end of that season.
