Hey, that's pretty cool

I didn’t know Lu had a shoe affiliation

Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

I think everybody wears Nikes on the team

except for Noah who wears that French rooster shoe and Rose who has the Adidas.. also sweet to see Deng with the mohawk again, I really liked that look at the start of the season

I think Korver wears Converse

And Thibs said, Let there be three's, and Deng shot threes
And Deng saw the three's, that they were good
And didn't shoot long two's anymore

Can't be both. Choose one.

Watching this video made me realize...

If having multiple stars repping the same shoe brand in one market is such a bad thing, how the hell did the powers-that-be let Wade, Lebron and Bosh team up? All three fucking endorse Nike.

Pat Riley is the devil.

I don't buy it

But I think the argument is that Adidas has so few stars that they need to maximize the ones they do have..

by runningman on Jan 18, 2012 10:11 PM CST up reply actions

made me curious

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Adidas_sponsorships#NBA_Players
there is a huge…and i mean HUGE…drop off in superstardom after rose and howard. They dont even have some young player who might break the superstar barrier…..i see some solid role players at best, not many allstars either…sad…..

heres nike
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nike_sponsorships#Players_4

damn thats a lot of players…They have two super duper stars in the 3 major cities, while addidas only has two superduper stars….period. This explains why perhaps addidas wants howard in one of the two major cities left after chicago. So…yea ill buy the business standpoint of the argument….nike whoops ass in terms of product placement on a national scale. Even if you had both rose and howard in chicago, addidas would find their asses whooped everywhere else. If howard goes to la (which from addidas stand point would be the ideal situation) He could help lead the lakers/clippers to the w. conference finals, and ultimately have a strong hold of LA’s market as well as at least half of the rest of the western conference, while rose owns the ecf (all those who hate lebron and the heat)

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

lol @

john starks and antoine walker being on the notable list with the rest of those names…

Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

so how do you maximize?

you put the 2 of them in different cities or you make them play together and beat Nike by defeating Miami and LA?

by JustAnotherFan on Jan 19, 2012 10:35 AM CST up reply actions

im not sure its that easy

addidas isnt playing gm here, they probably dont have much basketball sense really, i’d guess they wouldn’t assume putting howard and rose on the same team GUARANTEES victory, and for the brand to really take-off, wouldnt they have to do exactly that…at least get to the finals…?

They can sell his shoes in the UK if nowhere else

Nice to see someone thinks Luol is popular enough to warrant a commercial.

by runningman on Jan 18, 2012 10:15 PM CST reply actions

Well, now there's no shot at getting Dwight.

No way Nike lets Dwight and Lu play in the same market. Shit

by dakoose on Jan 18, 2012 11:41 PM CST reply actions

Lu with the mowhawk

would make him a lot more popular with the average basketball fan, he looks so badass with it.

by MartyMondays on Jan 18, 2012 11:59 PM CST reply actions

so far...

Amount of times Nike’s writers have scripted each player to talk about winning a championship during a commercial:

Luol Deng: 1
LeBron James: 0

just sayin…

correction

“…each player to talk about winning a championship working hard…”

From a cinematic standpoint...

that final take was really excellent.
