I'll post again here

Memphis is doing a great job of clogging the paint, and double/triple teaming when the ball is in the paint. They can do this because, well, the Bulls aren’t really known for outside shooting, and they certainly aren’t moving the ball well, either.

Combine that with horrific defense by the Bulls, and you’ve got yourself a blowout.

this is essentially their 6th game in 7 days, with most on the road. This had bad loss written all over it, even worse without Rose. Welcome to the 2012 NBA.

I hope this is enough

…for the Front Office to realize we need to change things around. Without Rose, we are garbage offensively. Even if Rip were healthy and playing today we would still stink. I attribute the lack of defense to weariness. Plus the Grizzlies can’t miss. But we have to get some kind of new blood in here.

Nice, Omer!!!

This comeback is a real indictment of Boozer/Noah. Not saying Omer/Taj are necessarily better offensively, but how can you dispute that their presence (especially on D) has not been instrumental in this surge? Yes, Boozer is effective at times, but I think it matters where his points are coming from. You don’t need to pay that kind of money for a jump-shooter with shaky defense.

this game is (and should be) a kind of indictment of the Noah/Boozer frontcourt. I’m not sure why they’re not playing well together consistently, but it’s really hard to ignore at this point.

agreed...

I think we look good at the top…

like I said earlier, I am glad Rose sat out and I am happy to give the Grizzlies this game…

Wade is going to be dealing with his injuries all year and the Heat will suffer distinctively for it… Yes, the same could be said of Rose, but his injury is tolerable and not being compounded by other issues.

Go Bulls…

by inkybreath on Jan 16, 2012 2:17 PM CST up reply actions

i don't think Asik is ready to be a starter yet

But it looks like Taj is ready. I’d be fine with amnestying booze or trading him for an overpaid scorer, and keep a 3 big rotation of Asik, Taj, and Noah. With all playing 20 + minutes a game.

by MartyMondays on Jan 16, 2012 2:09 PM CST via mobile reply actions   1 recs

yea HE COULD be a starter

hell he was, but its not like this game introduces some new version of taj or some increased growth. Hes a solid player, but hes still just a high floor low cieling guy. Yea, maybe he should start over boozer because he is providing….something….but its not like hes even borderline all-star or anything. hes a great team player, in a sense hes far more valuable as a bench guy than he is a starter. As a bench guy hes one of the best, as a starter hes just solid

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

by piccolomair on Jan 16, 2012 2:14 PM CST up reply actions   1 recs

thats how i see it too

But money wise he strikes me as the type of guy who would take a little pay cut if it meant staying in Chicago and starting.

I’m hoping we can resign both Asik and Taj and it is possible just tricky.

by MartyMondays on Jan 16, 2012 2:18 PM CST via mobile up reply actions

i think taj leaves on his own accord

because, as great as a guy and team mate he is, that hard hat and lunch pail is for a reason. I mean, the guy wants to start somewhere, he wants his talents to be known, and i think he will leave on his own accord for more pay and a starting gig as opposed to a championship run with the bulls. Thats just my thought. I think if the bulls offer him the starting job or give him a big contract, then he might stay, but i dont see either happening….

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!
