Could Al Horford injury send Hinrich to the Bulls?
Tom Ziller speculates on the impact of Horford's injury. Near the bottom of the article he says: "If a contender wants to take on Hinrich (an expiring contract) for the stretch run, Atlanta might not even need a first-round pick in exchange. Teague and Tracy McGrady seem to have the point guard spot under control." Second round pick for Hinrich's expiring contract? I think the Bulls might be interested. But he's earning $8 million this year. Could the Bulls afford it?

Two points:
(1) It would most certainly put the Bulls in luxury tax territory, especially if they only send the Hawks a 2nd round pick
(2) I’ll beat yfbb to it… SHOULDOFBEENAFANPOST

Sorry, it started as a simple link, then I realized it needed explanation.
At that point I should have reconsidered. Oh well.
im not sure how you can pull off a trade without salaries matching
and the bulls quite frankly dont have any salaries to unload.
I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!
Could they do a Rip on him. Buy him out and have the Bulls pick him up for whatever they can afford.
wouldnt make any sense for the hawks to buy him out
they can prob amnesty him at the very best and sign AK47
You cannot amnesty people mid year
I really had to stop myself from typing that in all caps, because these scenarios keep getting posted and corrected. You can only use the amnesty provision for a set period before each season starts. Hinrich is a free agent after the year, so there is no way the Hawks could use it on him.
If the Hawks want to save money, they’ll need to buy him out for less than his contract value, or trade him.
Not saying I want it to happen
but couldn’t the Hawks buy him out, so he can sign with us. And we send them a 2nd round pick and the rights to whoever the guy was we got from Washington for Hinrich for some future considerations.
I REALLY don't want Hinrich back here
Sadly, my self worth is almost entirely based upon the outcome of the previous night's Bulls game.

agreed. At this point CJ Watson provides more, and at less.
The poster formerly known as Freethefro.
He hasn’t been decent since what 2008? Enough already, at this point, I’d rather keep Watson. Enough of the nostalgia bullshit.

he actually wouldnt be a bad backup option for rip/rose
however, ur right, he is past his prime.
Seriously, the Bulls have their own thing going on right now
No need to rehash old shit

I would love to see hinrich play for the lakers
lord knows they need a pg like him and hinrich could continue to be a starting pg, which I believe he still is.
This would be the move Jerry would the tax for.
A team can’t have enough scrappy white fan favorites.

If he gets bought out, I'd love to have him at the league minimum
But there’s no reason to trade for him and his contract.
Pat Riley is the devil.
I bought 3 Hinrich Swingman jerseys at The Bull Market
Regularly $70, marked down to $10. With my STH discount before the season I got them for $8 each.
So I’m all for Hinrich coming back just for that.
