Bulls links: Watson and Korver vacations, rankings, and Ex-Bulls!
(a.k.a: stretching for Bulls updates to the point where I go to ex-Bulls)
Holy smokes. A dutiful blogger like me likes to go through his RSS feed a couple times a day. You could say that a truly dutiful blogger wouldn't use RSS at all and just use twitter, but if that's you: screw off. Anyway, in this lockout hell, I can now go a day or more without checking, and with little fear of it building up too much. I just went through 4 days worth...and there wasn't much out there. To the point where I'm putting in this introductory paragraph for no reason.
To the stuff!
- This is old but I don't think I ever posted it here: A talk with CJ Watson. The usual lockout fare of talking to teammates, not being able to talk to coaches, possibility of playing overseas, and so on.
- Kyle Korver is gearing up for his annual charity dodgeball game.
- Zach Lowe at SI is doing the smart thing: not waiting for news, but making it up by way of ranking things. That usually works, and he's usually good so it really works. This entry in his top-100 players in the league features 3 Bulls: Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah. It's way more than merely a statistical ranking and worth checking out. Similarly, there was a FanPost last week that had good Deng discussion, and Bulls Confidential recently tackled the concept of Boozer's expected productivity.
- Maybe some former Bulls? Would that interest you? No, not dynasty-era, go post a Michael Jordan mix for the 15th time in the fanshots if that's your bag. I'm talking more the likes of Ben Gordon, who won't be joining Deng on Team Great Britain this summer. Or Tyson Chandler, who in a Q&A with TrueHoop reflected on his BabyBull-mate Eddy Curry. Or Tyrus Thomas, wwho answers some fans questions with exciting results (via) if you believe him (looking inward for improvement? a post game?). That's right, in to put this moronic internet debate terms: BaB era > Dynasty era.

I like Lowe's list thus far
It’s a good sign when you have your top 4 players all in the top 50 and 3 of those players are in the 41-50 range and you still get to the ECF. My guess is that Derrick will be in the 11-20 range. Depends on how much Lowe likes his defense.
Q: Who is playing you in the movie about the ESPN book? I think it should be Adam Sandler — you both peaked 12 years ago.
— Timmy, Winchester, MA
- Simmons Mailbag, 8/5/11

Hey, I agree.
I think he’s top 10. But if I had to list people that a columnist might put ahead of him…
- James
- Wade
- Howard
- Kobe
- Paul
- Pau
- Durant
- Dirk
Hmm, well that’s all I got off the top of my head. But Lowe might be one of those guys who overrates a Manu or someone.

I know some might think this
But at this point ranking either Pau or Kobe over Rose is borderline ridiculous.
I don't see how it would be ridiculous
You could definitely justify putting either one over Rose. And I would put Kobe over Rose because he’s a better defender. My top 10 looks like this:
Lebron
Dirk
Howard
Wade
Durant
Kobe
Rose
CP3
Deron Williams
Gasol
Pat Riley is the devil.
*evil laugh*
and with the fear that were Gordon injured in international play the Pistons could waive him, he’s likely to stay off the team.
Woooooooooooooot!!
hmmm. that is interesting
in completely unrelated news, I now support placing Boozer on the 2012 Olympic Team, sending him to China to play in the Chinese Basketball Association, and continued planking, preferably over beds of nails.

everyone should send him gym bags in the mail
Joe Buck is just White Noise to me. It’s like the game is being called by a CD of whale songs. - mechanical turk
I had the strangest dream last night...
Or maybe I should say “dreams” (plural). Because there were a few different ones, and they occurred in several different places. But there was one thread that connected them (and this is the strange part), everywhere I went (in my dream), Derrick Rose was in the room/area, on a podium, crying and thanking his mom. No other interaction. Just basically doing the MVP speech thing all over my dreams. Not sure what to make of that. I’m guessing it happened cause I watched a Youtube mix about a half hour before, but who knows. (Yes, I know I’m weird)
Recovering...
guilt from saying he sucks.

Yep, he read your post Miami series comments during his in-house pizza/depression week
And now he’s haunting your dreams. So, I suppose the lesson here is, the things we say on Blog a Bull CAN be hurtful. Who knew?
