Fuck that rapist piece of shit!

He needs 2 worry about why his bitch ass got swept out the playoffs! And he’s just salty adidas kicked his ass to the curb! So he went with nike so he could slobber on jordans nuts like he wants to. Having said all that…I do think Rose’s shoes are kinda cheaply constructed.

Speaking as a Jordan guy...

… the Kobe VI is one of the best shoes ever made. Low cuts are not for everyone, but these are incredible. I’m sure the Rose shoes are technically fine, but visually they are boring.

by Stay Chisel on Jul 13, 2011 5:14 PM CDT reply actions

i heard technically they are not fine

due to the lack of ankle supports, havent tried the new ones though. I liked the design actually….

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

by piccolomair on Jul 13, 2011 5:24 PM CDT up reply actions

No, those were not his signature shoes

I think Rose shoes are cool, I hoop in em all the time, I bought the all red adi-zero he wore earlier in the season.

by Slick Ric on Jul 13, 2011 10:34 PM CDT up reply actions

kobe sprained his ankle as well in his shoes

I think it was against the hornets in the playoffs, so what is he talking about. just banter

by Slick Ric on Jul 13, 2011 10:35 PM CDT up reply actions

That wouldn't surprise me.

From my experience shoes without ankle support allow you to perform better, which the Rose shoes claim to do, but you just end up rolling your ankle much more often.

Kobe you washed up scrub how the new mvp ass taste?

Rose should go to adidas & demand real leather for his signature shoes. That synthetic shit might be light and all but its flimsy and less durable than the damn cow hide!

I think he's there

Knowing him, he possibly agreed to sit in the back to make room for someone else who wouldn’t go unless they received a primetime seat

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing

I think he’s in LA training right now, too.

Regarding Kobe, opinions are opinions

If something someone says, makes Rose take action, and produce a better product next time, then so be it. Constructive citicism, ultimately, it could be called.

Could have been a joke?, but more than likely not, this is the opinion of alot of buyers of Roses’ shoes, if this is what it takes for him to change them next time, thank you Kobe. Rose will get buyers regardless, but actually receiving the citicism he needs to make a more productive shoe next time, can only be positive.

At the very least, the makers of the shoe catch wind, and make a change, for the better. I really think though his shoe is more about the timing really of the “lightest shoe” contest trend, than an actual well-thought of shoe. The shoe industry changing the fad next year could be a possible change anyways, making criticism a moot point regardless.

Funny Story: (and do not lie I can't be the only one who had these)

Myself personally I used to get the pumps when I was young, and before I played ball always had to pump up the basketball on them, of course so I could jump higher! The sad thing is, is that at first I really thought it had some magical power to make me jump higher. When I found out otherwise, looking back on it and at the time, it was worse than finding out Santa Clause wasn’t real. Simply because once I found out he was not real I received less gifts.

Don’t kill me, but really though when I got older I was always more of an Iverson guy, in the basketball shoe dept. Always trendy, well fitting, and gave good support. Of course, they were not the old school b-ball pumps, but they definately got the job done. I found Jordan’s for some reason not very comfortable, nor did they really support my cankles very well. lol

by chicagobullies on Jul 13, 2011 9:04 PM CDT reply actions

My favorite basketball shoe ever was the Gary Payton's

Loved them. Very light weight, good ankle support, and it had the zipper/velcrow combination so you didn’t have to worry about it becoming undone.

I also had the VC Shox, which were really good as far as ankle support, but I didn’t like how heavy they were as far as running, but they seemed to be pretty solid as far as jumping.

Also had the Jordan Retro 5’s, which were probably the worst basketball shoes I’ve ever owned.

I had Pumps as a kid.

A buddy of mine had the Jordan VIs. We traded for a week once. I didn’t want to give the Jordans back, they were so much better; so light and awesome. Personally, I’ll take lightness over structure any day. If you’re going to roll your ankle, your shoe isn’t going to do much anyway (unless you’ve got a hiking boot on). Ankle braces are really the best way to minimize risk of damage.

I do all of my running/workouts in barefoot shoes or minimalist shoes.

So I was really excited when these shoes came out.I tried them on and unfortunately they are too narrow for me, but the ankle support is fine. In reality the amount of support on the sides of the shoe isn’t going to determine how likely you are to sprain your foot. You could have steel beam reinforced high tops and could still suffer a sprain. Any time you wear a shoe with a heel you could suffer a sprain. Heck, Rose wears ankle braces on both feet and I bet this shoe was designed with that in mind.

Now, the shoes are what i could call “flimsy” and that may be a bad thing for some, but i bet they would feel really great if you trained in them and got used to the support. Adidas is breaking new ground and people are going to be skeptical, but it doesn’t make it a bad shoe. Kobe is just trying to put down the dude thats taking all his endorsement money.

If we aren't careful, the leanness we now feel will be the starvation of those we serve.

learn to wrap your ankles

I’ve worn all sorts of crappy shoes and haven’t rolled an ankle in years. I always wrap my ankles up, learned it from playing soccer. As for Kobe, he’s bound to break shit from anything, he is a ticking time bomb because of age, not any footwear.

Let us cavort like the Greeks of old! You know the ones I mean.
