[Update 6/9: Clippers discussing Kaman. Cavs, Magic listed as suitors by Poopsworld. -ed.]

well if they can pull that off that knocks two options off our list.

doubt we can get in on that deal

Actually we can

It all depends on Boozer though but its a pipe dream at this point. The Warriors are looking for defense and size and the Sixers are looking for a scoring and size and we are looking, of course, for a second scorer. I actually came up with a couple trade scenarios where we could get Iggy, the Sixers get Monta, and we get rid of Boozer.

Trade Scenario 1: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4ym64av

Warriors get the size the were looking for in Nocioni and Speights
We get our true SG in Iggy
And the Sixers get scoring in Monta and Boozer

Trade Scenario 2: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3mf4m57

Warriors get Jodie Meeks (as a replacement for Monta), Nocioni, and Asik
We get Iggy and Speights (as our replacement for Omer)
And the Sixers get once again get Monta and Boozer

ha

Nocioni and Speights? 76ers better be throwing in the Rocky statue and a lifetime of philly steak sandwiches.

76ers still have Elton right. No way they take on Boozington too

You always were second best! And in this business, Bub, second best don't *cut* it!

Iggy would be great, although I'm also high on J.R.

it depends on how the front office views it though. J.R. might be too risky for them, but they have to take a risk if they want to advance. Rose can’t have 2 to 3 wing defenders on him at all times. J.R. would help a lot with that. And if they decide to place their hopes on late round picks, or another veteran that doesn’t do much of anything, god help us all.

Wasn't it Paxson who oversaw the ouster of JR Smith for two second round picks?

Why does everyone ignore that? Yes it was Skiles who could only coach “his guys,” (and only for three years) but what makes anyone think the FO has any interest in JR Smith just a few years later?

There were plenty of rumors

concerning the Bulls talking with Denver last year about JR. Also JR is much more of a need with this current team, especially considering Ben Gordon is gone.

I found the rumors credible, and if the Bulls would discuss trading for him, they’d certainly consider him as a free agent.

by runningman on Jun 7, 2011 9:58 AM CDT up reply actions

I don't think he's their "number 1" target.

But if they whiff on anyone else they might try to get to fill the vacancy at shooting guard, Smith is a great plan B, and we all know he isn’t resigning with Denver.

I don't think he is either

But I take that with a grain of salt because they haven’t even made it if they will pursue a trade or sign a FA SG. So unfortunately, just like the trade deadline we have to sit back and pray something happens. Hopefully, we don’t get any more “Slam Dunk” promises and end up with guys like Pargo again….ugh.

JR is more of a need now than back then

Plus, I think Thibs has a different type of influence in the FO than Skiles and that if Thibs really wants them to get JR, he could convince them to do it.

He was moved for cap room not because they didn't like him

we had him for 6 days

we let Shannon Brown rot on the bench and I don’t remember hearing anything bad about him.

JR just seems like a terrible defender

However, he has the athleticism and size to succeed in this system. I mean he has to be better than Kover if he just works at it. If he, as Thibs says, focuses on his body positioning and works hard, he should be at worst a capable defender. His offense has been consistently making up for his defense, so he is a good fit for this team. The attitude might suck, but he is still worth a shot.

with Brewer, Gibson, and Asik on the second team

I think the bulls could get away with letting Smith shoot us back into games or even build leads. Bulls keep designing plays for Korver and let Smith use his ability against weaker defenders.

What’s the problem? John and Gar can’t find suitors for his high-character players? So ironic.

As a Englewood native, I take much pride in watching D.Rose perform out on the court.

This would be a great move for GS

Size, toughness and D in the backcourt plus it let’s Curry be the ball dominator/scorer since Iggy loves to defer and move without the ball. You couldn’t ask for a better and more unselfish option.

Too bad Vinny DelJackson would be coaching them.

According to Marc Stein of ESPN

Iggy ;oves the idea of playing for the Clips

I guess he he’s never heard of who the head coach is there.

Or the owner.

But if the Clips had a worthy owner, it would be a different matter entirely. Lots of young talent on that team.
