I forgot just how violent MJ was when he played.
These days, if he played the same way he did then, he’d probably foul out in about 5 minutes just from charges. Those defensive segments were particularly illuminating, considering what happened to CJ Watson in Game 2 of the ECF this year…
Something that is over looked
Compare the eras that they played. Jordan played in a much more physical era than Lebron. If Lebron got beat up the way Jordan did in the 80’s and 90’s, he’d be too busy whining about not getting a call. Now if Lebron gets tapped on the shoulder while he is going to the basket he bitches and moan about not getting a call (even though he’s twice the size of everyone on the court). Lebron gets automatic calls if you breathe on him on a fast break.
Simple as this……I would love to see Lebron and Wade go against the Bad Boy Pistons like J had to. There is no way the would survive that game.

God that just brought back beautiful, beautiful memories!
With this being said, as previously stated, Jordan played in a different era. I find it really difficult to relate players to players of different era’s. The really only good comparisons that can be made are from those where the players are from the same era. And in Jordan’s there was no comparison.
With that being said, lol, LeBron is a once in an era talent, we maybe will see one more Lebron in our lifetime. But he just brings a whole different aspect to the game. He is every bit and more, PHYSICALLY, talented than MJ. BBBBUTT, the thing that separates MJ from every other player to play the game is how well he did with his relatively small stature, and his Mental attributes. He would out think you, out will you, out work you, and flat out, out play you. That’s where the comparison begins and ends.

I mean, he was a good scorer and all, but...

Can you imagine what Jordan could do with 2.5 steps?
The rebounding is just crap, IMHO. LBJ plays a different position, often closer to the basket, and has rarely been on a team with even good rebounders. Jordan pretty much always had great rebounders (Oakley, Grant, Cartwright and Rodman). The Worm doesn’t leave many boards up for grabs….
I won’t respond to the rest. MJ was the greatest. In the great pick-up game in the sky, Jordan would probably make him cry within 10 possessions.
yeah, i was talking about mj's rebounding with my coworker
and i said that exact thing. if it was ever a skill he needed to improve at, he would have. fact of the matter was, he still avg’ed 6 a game over his career, and he played with a lot of guys who grabbed a lot of rebounds. not to mention that he doesn’t play a position conducive to getting a ton of rebounds, as you also pointed out. it is a pretty silly argument. no shit the 6’9 small forward is going to get more rebounds over a 6’6 shooting guard.
Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

That's fantastic.
Who’s the guy at the end that says “How about six rings from now?!” Was that Costas?
Thank you Serbstream
I think in today’s society of Planes over cars, Texting over talking and Google over Libraries, we all forget so soon because we want it all right now. We all need to be reminded of that guy and what he was and what he did to this game. Go to Youtube sometime and pull up some of MJ’s first few games and just sit in awe. I was too young to remember those days myself and just can’t believe stuff this guys is doing in 1984! Lebran has NEVER made me feel that way. I swear there have been things that I’ve seen Rose do on the court at his height and weight that have amazed me more and I’m not being a homer.
I’m a huge fan of one of the most under appreciated superstars in history in Scottie Pippen but shame for saying what he said about Lebron being better. Ironically the most disrespected and insulted person through this whole discussion is Kobe Bryant. Lebron is not even as good as that guy yet here we are having a discussion about Lebron James? Really? A guy who may not be the best player on his own team… Shameful.
Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!
You made me do it
MJ’s first visit to MSG.
Holy crap the simple high post spin that made that guy fall at 3:40!
The block at 6:00!
Then at the end, 15-21 from the field? He’s a 2 guard, you know… and a rookie.

Okay Andy Rooney. I’m also pretty sure that air travel isn’t anymore en vogue nowadays than it was in the ’90s.

MJ is Legend
Scottie, you’re in the same HOF as Michael but you’re not a Legend. You are though turned into a good announcer troll.
Princess James may be a better “player” as you say but she hasnt even come close to six rings.
Even if those six rings happen, I wouldnt buy a LeBra shoelace.
Lebron James best defender of his era?
Say what now
