While I love Thibs' commitment to a plan and a rotation, I can't help but wonder if, under the set of circumstances of a 7-game series (as opposed to a reg season game sandwiched between other opponents), maybe some adjustments need to be made. Korver has been the "closer SG" for the whole season (some of the Indy series not withstanding), but he just doesn't match-up well with Rose and Deng covering Bibby, Wade and LBJ. It's not that I don't think that KK can handle Bibby defensively- it's that such a switch requires Rose to cover Wade on the defensive end. Rose looked gassed by the end of last night. He didn't have the lift/explosion that he has been demonstrating as of late (I wonder how long until Thubs notices that even a "2-game-minutea" stretch of breath for D Rose early in the 4th (either from the end of the 3rd to the under 9-min dead ball or from the 10-min to 6-min mark) does his game a world of good late), and I have to think that covering Wade for the last 8 minutes or so didn't help.
That said, why not bring KK into the game in Brewer's spot (at the 4-to-6 min mark of Qtr 1)- and if we can give Booz a few minutes run with KK out there, all the better. Save Brewer for the start of- or early in the second qtr and then play matchups from there. Basically, as soon as Miami makes a sub for LBJ or Wade, I put KK in. When they are both out there, Korver is not (unless the match-ups fall in a certain way). Just a thought after last night.
Anyone with me? (can't wait to see the venom some ass has for me)
