I'm suprised by the crowd

Because they were great last year top 3 with Portland and OKC

by tuluse on Apr 17, 2011 1:25 AM CDT up reply actions

It's weird, I usually notice the crowd, but I didn't think they were too bad today

You’re probably right though. They seem to only get loud when things are going well, or Derrick’s going off. If they’re down a little bit, the crowd just sits on their ass.

I never understood how it could be like that for a playoff game in a big ass city like Chicago. And really, most Chicago crowds are like that. They’re just kinda lazy.

Its nothing like what you see in New York , or Boston. Those places are up for grabs from the jump. The UC is more like Staples Center, only without the celebs

The Playoffs: That magical time of year when I become a fan of every team that Lebron James isn't playing for.

by Juiceboxjerry on Apr 17, 2011 3:18 AM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, I've seen a ton of big Knicks games this season. Their crowd is overrated, just like the whole goddamn franchise.

Mystical Garden crowds may have existed when Ewing was taking 7 steps per layup but that shit isn’t around anymore. The only big market that has a legit atmosphere is Boston. I don’t see a difference between the UC/MSG/Staples.

by Ozzie Montana on Apr 17, 2011 2:37 PM CDT up reply actions

it was louder than a regular season game, but no not especially playoff-loud

but consider this

1) they were down most of the game, and we had to save our breath in order to yell at Boozer.

2) IT WAS NOON ON A SATURDAY

I always abstain from crowd-bashing because I silently tweet the whole time.

Yeah I think its just where we have to give credit to the Pacers they were on fire for almost the entire game.

Don’t care if it was a good playoff foul or not hits after the foul they should take exception to.

Like D Rose said if someone thinks its dirty then go ahead and step up. Moments like that define a team and brings people together in a way I don’t think can really be explained all that well.

I love Luol Deng.

"Did Michael Jordan join the Pistons when he couldn't beat them? No. He dug down deep and went out and kicked their fucking ass."

DRose's Pippen

is how I see Luol. I was worried who would actually step up in the playoffs besides Derrick.
Noah would be Rodman. Booz as fake tough guy #2.

I’m glad Luol stood up for DRose, fuck ESPN announcers, oooohhhh Luol noooo, you shouldnt do that, ooohh no. FU!

by T2fan on Apr 17, 2011 4:57 AM CDT up reply actions

I’m still amazed that Luol actually did this.
It was more awesome because it was Lu. I could have seen Noah or Boozer doing it, but I almost fell out of my chair when Lu started going off.

News flash: Luol Deng is good...We now return you to your regularly scheduled hating...

by kingles on Apr 16, 2011 10:47 PM CDT reply actions

Weak crowd. Unbelievable.

They need to earn those seats.

by ColonelFatheart on Apr 16, 2011 11:59 PM CDT reply actions

I was at the game

The crowd was fine. It’s tough if not impossible to sustain frenzied cheering for a whole game— especially when it’s game 1 against the non-descript Pacers. The UC was louder than a normal home game, so I’m not sure what Pippen was talking about. The fans did what they needed to do in the second half.

by Stay Chisel on Apr 17, 2011 12:21 AM CDT reply actions

I think the crowd was a little bit stunned by Indiana overworking the Bulls

everytime we started a run we turned the ball over or took a dumb 3 and Indiana would be up again

King and Funk were all about it

As soon as it happened, they were like “this might be the spark that starts something for the Bulls”

by tuluse on Apr 17, 2011 1:26 AM CDT up reply actions

Those clowns from ESPN were all over the place

Seriously, just in the last 20-30 seconds of that clip, they basically had every possible opinion of Lu’s response to the foul. Fuck ESPN.

It is okay to change one's mind in the face of overwhelming evidence.

I mean, we are human beings and such.

In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).

Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

I heard a few sticking with it that it didn’t help. Though I did see a few who did after like the 2-3rd sports center heh.

Watching this makes me really happy

that I chose to watch the CSN broadcast instead of those idiots on ESPN. Also, it was great to see Luol go nuts and get the lowly crowd pumped up.

Deng had a flashback to Duke

Took it out on Tyler, then realized it was way too quiet.

Derrick Rose will be suspended by the NBA because he has broken too many ankles.

I went to Games 1 & 2 of the Miami series in 2007. Same thing happened.

Game 1 was a noon start on Saturday and everyone was dead until Tyrus dropped a sweet alley-oop. Game 2 was on a Tuesday night and the atmosphere was much better, the whole “Posey sucks” chant started that night. I think the early start time just throws an already mediocre crowd for a loop. Remember people, no matter how many titles the Bulls win this isn’t a basketball city.

by Ozzie Montana on Apr 17, 2011 2:41 PM CDT reply actions   1 recs

It isn’t but some are being too judgmental really. We’ll be fine the crowd is still one of the best in the NBA. Aslong as they show up most of the time anyway.

Weird as it seems, I didn't have too much of a problem with the tech.

I know it was a stupid thing to do to give them a chance for free points, but somebody has to step up and get the crowd into it, and protect D. Rose. If it was Lebron, ESPN would have been praising him for protecting D. Wade, and showing intensity for the playoffs etc, etc.

I always loved Lu, and so did my ex

but then spending more time here….you all made me hate him. Haha— but now it has come back to love for Lu.

You must have me confused with someone else, I have never been to Chicago.

It just happens. He’s a good light, bad light girl.

it was fucking funny

to watch ESPN at noon, then the CSN replay at 7

ESPN “That’s a clean foul, all ball, no place for that T when down five!”

Stacey “ROSE GOT MUGGED! Hansbrough made no effort to go after the ball! This is playoff ball, you love to see a teammate stand up for the other, good job Lu this is the spark the Bulls need”

like…word for word, completely opposite.

You must have me confused with someone else, I have never been to Chicago.

fuck rondo

Ben Wallace signing + pissing off BG7 + pretending to trade for Kobe and getting everybody butthurt = 1.7% chance at the #1 pick...which somehow turned into Derrick Rose joining the Chicago Bulls. Garpaxdorf for executive of the year!

Luolz!

Was this the first time ever Luolz has tried to pump up the crowd?
