Can't win them all
I know basketball is a team sport but i’m sorry, Noah blew this game for the bulls. He did score 17 points but only 3 rebounds and his defense was terrible………Deng also disappeared after the 3rd quarter, this is why the bulls need Booz.
Horrible Oficiating Tonight
The refs suck butt tonight!
we really need another scorer on this team, we will be in these type of situations when playoff time comes

First, we can still go to Rose in the clutch, but he won't be tired from
carrying the team the whole game. Second, Boozer is not only good himself, he opens up the game for everyone else. Half the time he creates a wide open shot by passing out of a double team.
I also think Noah was still feeling the effects of the flu tonight, and the exhaustion of playing back to back while not fully recovered.
All that being said, everyone can share the blame for the horrible first half.
I’m so glad they came back, even if they didn’t win. It really reassures me.

Can't win 'em all.
You can look at this game and see things we should have done better, and a couple more baskets in regulation would have won us the game. But no team wins 100% of the time, even against bad teams. This wasn’t a horrible loss, and it doesn’t mean we “need shooters” or “have to rearrange our defense and rotations.”
Lebbeus clarehanna!
Rotations?
Thibs definitely has to change them! Bogans was playing retard from the start of the 3rd quarter yet he didn’t take him out of the game until the 5-min mark?? FUCK YOU THIBS!
This is the Truth. I'm Not the Best, I'm Not the Greatest of All-time. But, I'm Gonna Run Up on You. I'm Fast Because I'm Light, I'm D. ROSE and FAST DON'T LIE!
We need to stop finding scapegoats for these losses.
The Bulls played really bad for the first half, got totally outplayed.
And Thibs said, "Let there be 3's" And Deng shot 3's
And Deng saw the 3's, that they were good
And didn't shoot long 2's anymore
by windycitywarrior on Mar 18, 2011 9:08 PM CDT reply actions 2 recs
They did. But the reason they were so badly outplayed is our bigs didn't show up. We were outrebounded
and our interior defense was poor. The perimeter wasn’t the problem. Unfortunately (because I like him so much) there is a scapegoat in this game – our interior. Only Taj rebounded worth a damn.

On the bright side...
1. I enjoyed watching Derrick Rose ball out of even his mind today. Rose > Indiana + Refs
2. It seems like Deng and Noah haven’t been playing well, the former on offense, the latter on defense. If they can break out of it, and we get Booz back, then the Bulls can still be absolutely dominant on any given night.
3. The Celtics have been pretty bad since the trade.

to be fair, Rose was hogging it, he needed to make 1-2 passes there in OT to get us a dunk or layup

Dude, I don't even want to turn this into a Rose hating thing
because that’s not what I meant AT ALL. He was amazing last night. BUT, for a little while now, he has not been trying to make many plays for his teammates. He’s almost exclusively trying to score. Occasionally he’ll drive to kick out to a shooter, like Korver or Bogans, but that’s about it. People wanna keep blaming his teammates, but I see players like D Will and Steve Nash rack up tons of assists with worse players.
Now, Rose is better than those guys overall, I’m not arguing that. But he had a way better balance of playmaking vs. scoring earlier in the year. I’d like to see him get back to that. That’s all I’m trying to say. People are so fucking sensitive when it comes to Rose it’s gd ridiculous
I didn't want to type this sentence, the force from an Omer Asik dunk made my fingers do it.

You're wrong.
If you watched the game last night, he had Kurt set up for some open mid range shots, and had several nice passes to Jo and Taj rolling to the hoop. It’s not his fault he’s surrounded by a lot of guys that, by NBA standards, are offensive stiffs.
you might be right, but they scored 110 points per 100 possessions last night.
so offense wasnt the issue, regardless of whether it felt team oriented enough.

Box-scorin'
The game was not televised in Argentina tonight (got Magic/Nuggets and Heat/Hawks instead). So all I have to go on is the box-score. The thing that jumps out is that the SGs provided exactly dick tonight:
Bogans 0-3, 3 assists, 2 TOs, nothing else to speak of
Brewer 1-3, 2 steals, 1 To, nothing else to speak of
Korver 1-3, 1 assist, nothing else to speak of
That and the D was obviously porous in the first half giving up 62, no?
The D won’t be like that very often. The SG – it’s going to be hard to win if all three suck that much on the same night.

also who make the schedule for the nba cause its pretty fucked up that
we have the most back to backs by any team and by a wide margin too.
Yes, but we have 6 less back to back road games then the Celtics
The NBA has to sort out 260+ games, while managing around Circus tours, rodeo tours, all-star games, teams sharing the same arena, etc.. etc.. etc.
Bears. Bulls. White Sox.
Law of averages. The Bulls were perfect in the division, perhaps this was the time to lose one.
The Pacers are fighting for that eight seed, after all.

Alright fellas: this sucks. However:
I really hope we get this Indiana team in the first round. Noah will not be ill, tired, and suck. Boozer will not absent. Korver will not go 1-6. The refs will not be schizo all night – awful for them, then us, then them. We will not decide to play defense in the last 8 minutes of the 4th quarter after screwing around the entire game.
Miami is 4 games behind us in the loss column, counting the tie-breaker. We may not lose four more games in the season. And Boston is enjoying the stylings of Jeff Green with a blowout loss to a mediocre Houston team.
Tonight sucked. But Indiana’s season sucked. And it will suck even more when we kick the living shit in the playoffs, if they’re lucky enough to make it.

I know you guys are gonna probably kill me after saying this:
But you guys kinda remind me of the last two Cavs teams. They had 1 great player and a great defense and alot of scrappy guys. But It wasnt enough on offense to get over the teams with multiple scorers on their teams. However, I will say that Celtics and Magic are weaker and you never know what your gonna get from the Heat. They dont have any PGs or legit big men. Just my opinion but I think some of you guys are right in that not enough scoring might be what keeps you guys from getting to the Finals…this year only.

You are entitled to your opinion
But who were the 2nd options behind LBJ? Varajeo, Jamison, Mo. Options behind D Rose: Noah (> Varajeo), Boozer (> Jamison), Deng (>Mo. W). So I’ll disagree with you.
Bears. Bulls. White Sox.
Fair points
although I think Boozer and Jamison are a wash (last years version of Jamison) and Noah and Varajeo are kinda the same player arent they? And yeah, Deng easily over Mo.

Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau feels his team only played defense for one quarter – the fourth – in loss to Pacers, says Bulls aren’t very good when they don’t defend – 3/18
I think one thing you guys can hang your hat on as far as Finals hopes
Is that those two Detroit teams from 04 and 05 didnt have any superstars but a bunch of scrappy good defensive players. And Rose is better than anyone on either of those teams (although not by that much)
"If somebody had their life on the line, and they’ve got their options on who they want to save their life — tell me who you’re going to pick? You’re going to look at the stats first?" - Kobe Bryant

By a significant amount. But it was hard to hate that Piston team.

Rose is FAR better than anybody those Pistons teams had.
I just said that because
of how Rasheed affected that team so much on both offense, defense and rebounding. But Rose’s intangibles probably put alot of distance between him and Sheed

Look, guys. I know this sucks. It sucks a lot, and it's even more painful after that amazing comeback. BUT:
1. The Bulls are still in first.
2. The Bulls still have a decent lead on the Heat, combined with a tiebreaker.
3. A perfect record in the division would have been nice, but the division is already locked up.
4. Rose made an even more compelling argument for MVP tonight even in a loss.
5. It looks like Rose is starting to get those MVP calls. And he’s converting them into points.
6. Boozer is out. With everyone standing around tonight watching Rose, it would have been nice to have him as a safety valve on offense.
7. This defensive performance tonight was an ABERRATION. It happens.
8. The Pacers needed this win perhaps more than the Bulls did, and they played with desperation.

I absolutely love watching Rose go off, but it’s me and my girl’s anniversary tonight, so I could only catch the first half. When Rose went bonkers, what was he hitting? Dunks, layups, jumpers, threes, etc? What was he doing?
nothing but drives, he hit one 3
drew lots of fouls
"I love you, mommy!" - Joakim Noah
Layups layups and more layups
They couldn’t stop him
Rose: Who in the blue hell are you?
Rondo: Well
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU ARE!
And screwed us a bit too
Rose: Who in the blue hell are you?
Rondo: Well
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU ARE!
This.
This is what he needs to keep doing.
Even though he ended up shooting 8-23 vs the Nets last night, it felt like he could drive on Williams any time he wanted to. I like that he’s more confident in his three-point shot, but he’s going to make more shots, get more free throws, and develop a better overall shooting rhythm by driving, driving, driving.

Thanks guys.
It sucks that we lost to Boston, but hopefully the Bulls get on another winning streak.
Huh? That was a long time ago. The last game we played against Boston, we won too.

I meant Indy,
dont know why I wrote Boston.
I missed this game due to being out of the house and followed the fourth quarter comeback on my phone
That OT sucked, but it’s one loss. What did the Bulls do after their last loss? They took it out on their opponents in their longest winning streak of the season. I see this loss as a motivator that will launch us on another long streak, one that might well see us clinch the top seed.

Thankfully, the Celtics gave the Bulls a gift tonight.

Good news: Celtics and Knicks lose and LA is losing
Bad news: Bulls lose, Heat win, and the LBJ jock ridin begins.
Couldn't believe this last night!
I was just walking down the streets, and I saw lebron. I gave him a hi-five. and all of a sudden… a ref jumps out of a bush and shouts “FOUL”

More Drose
“My turnovers hurt the game, plain and simple,” Derrick Rose said. “(Overtime) is the time I’m supposed to take over. And I didn’t show up.”
Rose on his game-tying free throws:
“Means nothing at all,” Rose said. “We lost.”
Thibs:
“The only quarter we played defense was the fourth,” coach Tom Thibodeau said. "In overtime, we did a poor job. You usually get what you deserve. They got 23 second-chance points. That’s probably the difference right there. They attacked us and we were back on our heels. In the fourth, we got after them and it changed.
“We have to do a lot better. This is a step backward. We have to come out ready to play. They’re a physical team. They killed us on the boards to start the game and we never adjusted. When we don’t defend, we’re not very good.”
Thibs on our 3s…
“We were searching the 3 out first, not inside-out,” he said. “That’s fool’s gold.”
AND…. GG PACERS
“I can’t wait to play them again,” Rose said.
Derrick is so hardcore
I think they kinda took the pedal off the gas for a minute to start OT because they figured they took Indy;s heart out, but I gotta hand ot to them, they kept fighting, and we got sloppy with the ball.
Rose and Thibs have to come together and figure out a way where he can get his teammates a little more involved. His passing just hasn’t been there. It’s almost like he’s afraid to make a mistake

It would be great if Derrick would feed the post more and get things going that way, inside-out, as Thibs said.
Having Boozer back would help.

Damn, this one still stings
A chance for separation in the standings, plus a chance for Rose to absolutely solidify his MVP award (probably still did). Now we have to wait three days for a game against the Kings, blegh.

Yeah, but the team will be rested and focused, and maybe Booz will be back.
A royal beatdown could be in the works for Sac-town.

I'm sure we'll beat down Sacramento
but Boozer will probably milk this thing for another couple weeks. The first ever life threatening ankle sprain. Someone show that man some video of Kobe after his ankle got rocked this past week

We just need to hold out for Blake Griffin for a few years
Then he’ll get tired of VDN and we can tell him “come join the party.”
do i really need to remind everyone
of how chris bosh was out 2 weeks after asik landed on him? and that looked a helluva lot less painful than booz’s. i’d be surprised if booz isn’t back on monday.
Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

Bright side: The one seed is still ours to lose
If we don’t lose one more game this year, we get it. Hopefully this nasty loss is enough to fuel them the rest of the way. it seems like they need one every once in a while to remember what it fells like

Guys, don't forget to keep checking the news
for stories about an unidentified white male wearing a Bulls hat that crashed his car with his girlfriend in it, and a bunch of empty Guiness cans in the back seat.

-sigh-.... Fuck Bogans
I know technically I shouldn’t blame him for the loss. No defense, rebounding, etc from most of the team……but fuck that. I hate him.
lol u mad bro?
Screw the haters. It's Cutler time.

Hell yeah. I know it's one loss, but it was just a frustrating game.
Just venting with the rest of the good people on BAB.
but c'mon man, hate? U don't even know the guy and you hate him?
Screw the haters. It's Cutler time.

Hate is a strong word
But I don’t mean it in a vicious way so to speak. I don’t wish him harm or anything like that. I’m sure he’s a decent guy as a human being.
But he sucks as a basket ball player. I hate him sharing the court with someone who is pouring his heart and soul into the team trying to will them to victory, all the while he misses wide open looks, and manages to turn the ball over and get a flagarant foul.
I know he didn’t cost us the game. I’m not that naive, and I don’t hate him the way you might think I meant it. Of course I don’t know the guy, so I can’t hate him as a person. But I sure as hell can hate him as a basketball player, if we can still call him that.
The horse has been beaten to death and then some. Might as well throw a few more punches, kicks, etc while the corpse is still there.
i;m pretty sure once the playoff comes
blog-a-bull is going to jump like popcorn on a kettle.
we’ll be averaging like 800 comments per thread on slow nights. haha
oh god. I think I started posting around the playoffs last year and I forgot how messy it was.

Thibs needs to learn that players aren't robots.
And actually get tired on the back end of back to backs. And can’t get to their defensive spots as quickly.
This guy is really lucky he has a bunch of workers on his team. Cause if he didn’t, he would’ve been fired 20 games ago.
I'm satisfied
Not gonna be one of those fans that freak out after every loss.
Game seemed like a blowout, Rose’s heroics almost save the day. This shit happens in a long season. Fuck it.
I’d be pissed if they just rolled over after being in such a big deficit but they didn’t.
They need these kinda losses in all reality. I don’t want them satisfied with their record just yet. Games like these can do wonders for an over confident team.
I’m not saying they are over confident but I’m saying it’ll help in case they were

Tough loss..but future still bright for these guys
To ease the sting of last night’s loss I’m posting this article I found about the ‘91 team that was Jordan’s first ring. Hopefully these new guys can start their own legacy!
