A word of warning (re: SBNation posting policies)

Maybe there are others out there who could use this information.  I just got reinstated to SBNation after being banned by an autobot on Friday night.  Here's what happened and how to avoid it.

When I tried to post more than two times in an hour on Friday night, I received a notice that I was posting too frequently and should wait a while before starting again.  I don't remember the exact language of the warning but it did not say wait an hour.  So I tried again every five or ten minutes, and eventually found myself banned, with all my posts deleted, including Friday night's thread discussing other NBA games.

I sent a message support@sbnation.com but apparently no one was there over the weekend.  Today I received this explanation:

Your account has been reinstated and your content has been restored. This is a spam protection measure that sometimes catches legitimate users. So you are aware of the guidelines in the future, if you post more than two posts in an hour, a throttle violation is issued. If you receive more than five throttle violations in a 24 hour period the system automatically bans your account. I apologize for the inconvenience.

So don't post more than twice in an hour.  And if you receive a warning that you have posted too often, wait an hour to post again.

FanPosts are user-created posts from the BlogABull community, and are to be treated as the opinions and views of that particular user, not that of the blogger or blog community as a whole.
