James Johnson Doin Work in the D-League
31 pts, 16 boards, and 6 blocks? The number that surprises me the most is the 3 TOs in 40 minutes of play.

No Defense in D-League
Looking that final game score and most scores in the d-league, i don’t see much defense being played.
The D-League might be defenseless
but even if those numbers translate to 8 pts, 4 boards and 2 blocks. thats a decent contribution off the bench and might give Lu a few minutes off

I don't care if that's the d-league
Those are some seriously impressive numbers.
Agreed
And Thibs said, "Let there be 3's" And Deng shot 3's
And Deng saw the 3's, that they were good
And didn't shoot long 2's anymore

Holy Lord. James Johnson...alright, so that's about as productive as a D-league stint
as you can get. Here’s the question. Does his domination of the d-league make you feel any better about potentially trading one of our back up forwards (Korver/Brewer/Taj)?

Based on what Bogans gives us
I think we can throw JJ out there at SG to get the same production.
I can predict the future using Norm Van Lier's crystal balls.

Sam Smith basically thinks JJ's D-league performace
means he won’t be traded and may used down the stretch.

Good.
He maybe the most raw player on the Bulls but look how Asik has improved. Asik was the most raw and still maybe. But he goes out now and does really hurt you. I would just like to see Thibs work with JJ even through his bad moments. I think it’s important to get him in obviously to rest Deng don the stretch. But adding him to the second unit with his scoring ability is huge.
he needs to play
But this season? I don’t see Thibs putting him out there to learn while we’re trying to secure the #1 seed.
I think JJ may know his chance to play this season is very low which is why he is in Iowa.

Agreed. Seems like the whole point is to show off JJ
so teams will want him in a trade. Thibs didn’t need the D-League to tell him how JJ played, he could see him in practice.
Of course, if JJ isn’t traded this also gives him a chance to play and improve, but I very much doubt he’ll find a spot on the rotation this year if the Bulls stay healthy.
As long as the Bulls get some value out of him
I don’t care if they use him themselves or trade him for someone they will use.
That would be exciting
to get a productive bench 3/4 (can I dream of his playing the 2) for free.
Why not use the assets they have already and keep the picks for themselves?
You must have me confused with someone else, I have never been to Chicago.

Play this man
I really give props to JJ for asking to be sent down there and really using that opportunity to show everyone (hopefully including Thibs) what he can do.
I'm cuckoo for Kukoc!!!

I have read that the Bulls brass intend on bringing him back up when we get back to Chicago after this road trip.
I can’t wait to see what kind of playing time he gets then.

D-League or not
those numbers are impressive. I’m worried about Deng minutes down the stretch. Thibs needs to find some time for JJ so he can relieve Deng or this whole season will go up in smoke if Deng gets hurt. If he can let Asik learn on the job and let Bogans take half the season to barely find his shot, then certainly he can let JJ get some burn to learn where to be on defense.
Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!

man he doesnt get enuff burn, so I kinda take that with a grain of salt
and some players need a lot of reps before they figure everything out
..and da so mi ah seh!
Johnson needs to get playing time
because he’s a manchild like LeBron
NOT SKILLS WISE. Not what I’m saying.
I am saying that guys like him will always find an opportunity in the league because of their size. He has the same build as LBJ, and I hope the Bulls play him off the bench. It would be awesome to have an extra 4 coming off the bench that’s his size.
James Johnson Mancrush.
