A rundown of some of the names that the Bulls have been looking at to upgrade the SG spot. Feels good to know that they're at least looking.

"Excess in the front court"?
Who would they trade? Thomas? Gibson? Asik? Surely not Boozer or Noah.
They may inquire but I’m not convinced they’ll pull the trigger. But we’ll know in about three weeks.
I hope that if the right deal comes along they will pay the luxury tax.
I don't want to gibe up Taj or Omer.
The only player I am willing to give up that plays significant minutes is Bogans, which is why I think Courtney Lee is the right choice. He doesn’t do a lot, but he does just enough, and we can probably get him for close to nothing.

Throw in a pick (probably two), and this deal most likely gets done IMO.
Is it depressing that our starting shooting guard has only scored 6 points 12 times, or is it impressive that the Bulls have gone 12-0 in those games? Mind blowing.

I would do that trade in an instant with a pick thrown in.

I like Lee when he was in Orlando.
And thought it was a mistake for Orlando to trade him.

According to the source,
Houston wants someone for their frontcourt, and would only trade Lee as part of a bigger deal.
I watched Lee play last night against the Lakers and..
wasn’t impressed. Maybe Thibs could work on him but he had a really bad behind the back pass to Derrick Fisher and that just made me shake my head.
They're gonna do something
Courtney Lee would be nice. I just hate that he’s with Houston. Morey seems like a major shithead to deal with. I guess Anthony Parker is alright, but I like that Lee is more of a tough guy, it’ll help with matchups against guys like Wade.
I believe in The Bogans Prophecy.
Much rather go for Lee than Parker. They'd just be giving up an asset for a one year rental in Parker

True, but there's no guarantees that Courtney Lee will play well enough
that we’d want him to stick around. Plus we might find someone better in the offseason through trade, or free agenecy (JRich?). I agree though, Courtney Lee would be the best fit as far as, can help now, and might be the right guy going forward (assuming Mayo isn’t available)

JRich is too old for my liking
I really like the youth of this team.

Well, everyone likes youth
but young, good players are hard to find. Which is why sometimes you have to plug some older guys into the mix. To be honest, I’m not really sure it matters all that much with a sg on this team. He has to fill a certain type of role more than anything

I think dealing with Morey makes it more difficult
maybe a deal will get done, but I can see him requiring either Taj or Asik

Shit, and we're only 22 days away from the 24th
What an exciting time right now. Noah’s on his way back, the team is playing great. Rose is about to start in the All Star game. And now the trade deadline is right around the corner. Good shit.

Still on the Courtney Lee bandwagon
how could finals experience be a bad thing heading into the playoffs?

Anthony Parker is terrible
He’s not a starting level SG. Exchanging Bogans for Parker is just shuffling deck chairs. Also, he’s at the end of his deal. So, not only does he not make the Bulls better this season but he has no impact next season. I don’t get it.

Don't doubt the magical powers of Keith Bogans.

AP puts up mediocre numbers on an awful team
His best days are long past. He is best suited to be a backup (like Bogans). If the Bulls make a trade, it should be for a starting caliber player. A player like Lee makes some sense as he might have a place on the team in the future. AP is a guy who might not even be in the league next year.
by Stay Chisel on Feb 2, 2011 2:18 PM CST up reply actions 1 recs
He'll be in the league next year
and he’s better than you’re giving him credit for. He’s obviously not a huge difference maker for a team as miserable as the Cavs, so it’s pointless to bring team record into it. And if we’re gonna do that, you might as well point out that he started for the team with the best record in the league last year. No one’s saying he’s a savior, but he’s an unquestionable upgrade over Bogans, and his particular skill set fits our team well. If nothing else is available, I think he makes a fine addition.

Bogans 3-point shooting has made him frightningly competent
as in I will allow him to stay on the league and not stay at the UC to shovel snow.

I prefer to think that he was just frighteningly incompetent before
Let’s not forget that, not only was/is he missing shots, he was missing WIDE open shots. Kyle Korver could have made two of those threes in the time it took Bogans to miss one.
Plus, even in his “improved” state, Thibs doesn’t like him enough to bring him back into games after his initial appearance. And that’s been my major issue with this thing all along. If you’re trying to build team chemistry (playing-wise, not buddy-wise), then why even put Bogans into the mix? All it does is complicate things.

Shit the Bulls went after DeMar DeRozan? That a boy!
The Bulls have apparently made runs at Toronto regarding DeMar DeRozan and were turned away and have made inquiries on O.J. Mayo with Memphis that went no where.

Another super athletic SG from USC who couldn’t shoot worth shit, and hard a short career playing lots of minutes on absolutely terrible teams.

Taj, Scal, now DeRozan and Mayo?

I couldn't imagine the Raptors giving him up.
but the fact that the Bulls went after him makes me pleased.
DeRozan has more talent in his left index finger than Bogans has in his whole body
But he’s a project who’s incapable of being an outside shooting threat. I fail to see how he’s a good fit.
Pat Riley is the devil.
he's really raw but i think Thibs could make him a beast
somehow he reminds me of a more athletic Brewer..with a str8 arm
..and da so mi ah seh!
He is a lot like Brewer
Except DeRozan has the potential to develop a reliable 3-pt shot. Until that happens and until he gets a little more polished defensively, he’s just an inferior version of Brewer, so I don’t see how he’ll help us right now.
Pat Riley is the devil.
I wouldn't go that far
Coming out of college, Keith Bogans had one of the best left index fingers in his draft class

Yeah, he's not a good fit for us.

DeRozan is a terrible shooter and he’s not improving at all. His handles are only average so it’s not like he’s getting to the rack and getting fouled to make up for his terrible shot. He’s only ok on D. It takes more than athleticism and potential to be a legit player. All DeRozan has is that. I’d drop a 2nd rounder/JJ, that’s it. I don’t see him getting better…maybe defensively but his shot looks permanently broke to me.
