Did the Bulls make the wrong decision on T-Mac?

Stay connected for news and updates

I'm watching a little Pistons-Blazers at the moment (don't ask me why), and it made me think about a pretty big topic of discussion around here from earlier this year: T Mac.  He's playing pretty well right now.  Given the way the season has played out, and the fact that we still need a shooting guard, I'm not so sure he wasn't the perfect fit, all things considered.

I obviously haven't seen that much of him this season, given how bad the Pistons are, but he seems like a good team player, and his body has held up well.  Those were two of the biggest concerns Bulls fans had with him (myself included).  He's still a willing passer, which would be perfect for this team, and this offense.  He's a smart player.  Doesn't seem to be jacking up shots from what I can tell.  The only real negative I see is that he's shooting 32% from the 3 point line.  But it's not like Brewer or Bogans have been much better.

Also, and I think this the biggest reason why we may have screwed up, the players that we're talking abut bringing in at the deadline to fill that hole (Lee, Parker etc.) aren't playing as well as he is this year.  And we wouldn't have to even consider giving up a draft pick, Asik, Gibson, JJ, anyone, if we signed McGrady.  Unless the Bulls shock me by bringing in OJ mayo, it seems as though they made the wrong choice on him.  What do you guys think?  Am I crazy, or would it be nice to have him in a Bulls uni right now?
