if this happens, they wont be in the east!

rather face Kobe/Howard/Paul in the Finals than possibly having to go through three of Paul/Amare/Carmelo, Williams/Howard, Garnett/Pierce/Allen and Wade/James/Bosh just to get to the finals.

not..gonna...happen

please, besides bynum and odom, who else can they used to acquire BOTH OF THEM.

by Geo4MVP on Dec 5, 2011 11:48 PM CST reply actions

gasol artest etc

Should've traded for Melo.

by sin on Dec 5, 2011 11:51 PM CST up reply actions

no...

i dont even consider artest as a trading chip. Gasol maybe but they wont be enough to get both.

by Geo4MVP on Dec 5, 2011 11:53 PM CST up reply actions

well theoretically they could find another team to ship artest off to

for expirings or something maybe.
artest can still be of value to some crappy team.

Should've traded for Melo.

im sorry, i said .7 percent, lol!!!

should have types up .7%, damn, i feel ashamed and i was a freekin math major in undergrad!

by Geo4MVP on Dec 6, 2011 12:05 AM CST up reply actions

uh no you were in the right

.7 % means .07 chance. T.Moore did bad here.

When you say “percent” it implies . .7 is not 70%. .7 is 70%. .7% is .7% or .07 chance.

This won't happen.

That’s all I have to add

by Option27 on Dec 6, 2011 1:08 AM CST via mobile reply actions

really all the lakers have to beat is the knicks offer for CP3

so a package of artest and gasol and odom should be one of the best in terms of talent coming from a team CP3 actually is willing to go to.

and that just leaves a bynum for dwight deal, which isnt that far-fetched

plus there was talk of luke walton retiring so they could possibly throw him in there to add some cap relief for one of the teams i would assume?

Should've traded for Melo.

It's not happening

The league owned Hornets cannot trade away all the value in the franchise. Chris Paul and his agent are still unwilling to go on the record about not wanting to sign a contract extension with the Hornets. Paul may be under an effective gag order about demanding a trade, but he can say anything he wants about not wanting to extend with the Hornets.

I can predict the future using Norm Van Lier's crystal balls.

If the Hornets or Magic agreed to settle for crap like that

when they could probably get more from teams gambling on a rental- it’s collusion. I highly doubt this happens, but it wouldn’t surprise me, considering how the Lakers have landed elite players in the past for peanuts.

I would just dismiss this out of hand

but when you consider the Lakers’ history, and the way they are constantly able to pull MVP and superstar level players out of their asses, you have to at least give it some thought.

Also, you know that whole thing about how you shouldn’t wish injuries on players? Yeah, I’m not abiding by that anymore. If you force a trade to form a “superteam”, I’m rooting for your leg to fall off.

Recovering...

yeah, they do have a good history of getting stars for pennies but at the same time....

The hornets are def looking for some YOUNG players with decent potential. Artest and Gasol are not gonan cut it. If anything, CLIPPERS are going to get Paul. They have the pieces to make a MAJOR move which can shake the West. Griffin and Paul would be a nasty combination.

Last time I dismissed they got Gasol

and later they even manage to bring World Peace
