These are the kinda times refs really need to swallow their whistles

I mean, that was clearly a charge.

Wow, that was a great dunk.
It looked like the right call… but I’m surprised they called it. Total buzzkill.
Gerald Wallace probably has his trollface going on inside.
And Thibs said, Let there be three's, and Deng shot threes
And Deng saw the three's, that they were good
And didn't shoot long two's anymore

he was there forever
there was no doubt about that call.

Actually, watch that very last replay and watch Wallace's right leg
He knew that leg was still inside the circle and was actually still dragging that leg out pretty late. Not so late where it wasn’t a charge, but he wasn’t there “forever”. Refs could have let it go.

yeah see this is a tougher call than it seems
he’s actually already in the air when wallace gets in position, but yes wallace was in correct position by the time they made contact. but evans was already in motion by the time wallace got in place, and it would have been hard for him to adjust…
Look
I didn’t want to offend anyone by saying the "f" word or generalizing my statement to any particular sex by saying "gays" or lesbians" or "bi’s" so "homos" is the most "politically correct" term. I’m just trying to be more tact in a tactless blog.

The way the rule is written and interpreted, it's irrelevant that Evans is already in the air by the time Wallace takes position.
I think it’s stupid, but it’s still a charge.
Pat Riley is the devil.
Actually never mind, I'm wrong here
He does have to be set by the time Evans leaves the ground.
Pat Riley is the devil.
I watched the video frame by frame
In my view, when Evans left the ground, Wallace was still bringing his right leg out and raising his hands.
This has been a frustration of mine with the charge call. Are refs missing these calls, or is there really an expectation that the offensive player avoids a defender that moved into position after they’re airborne?
exactly what i said above you!

I totally agree
His right heel seems to be slightly on the line.
At that point, just don’t call anything or call a block
yeah i mean look at this, i took a screenshot:

evans is already in the air and wallace is clearly not in position here. he can’t be expected to move at this point. of course in real time it’s harder to discern but i certainly just agree with it being a no call.

i truly wish the nba refs would resort more to no calls
as opposed to bad calls. If its questionable, just make it a no call, the fans will appreciate it more, the game will be smoother, the players who bitch can be easily told “hey if i was gonna call it i could have called it the other way, it was that close” and it would make nba games seem less like conspiracy games…..but they like making sure everyone know they exist and have power, and sometimes tend to go out of their way to make a call, even when they are not sure if its the right call…
I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

He still got posterized...
nothing he’s ever going to be able to do about that.
