This is my first fanpost, so be gentle please. I like Arrested Development so I could fit in here.
What are you all thinking in terms of the success of the Bulls this year? Obviously the biggest upgrade is Richard Hamilton right now, but it will be interesting how the FO rounds out the rest of the team.
Personally I am a little worried about the marginal improvements we have made. I'm not too high on Rip right now. Bogans shot 38.7% for 3 last year, which Hamilton hasn't reached since 2007-2008. Everyone references how much of a better scorer Hamilton is than Bogans, and I believe them, but I don't necessarily see what Hamilton will do in terms of spacing the floor that Bogans wasn't already doing. Is it that Hamilton is a much more consistent shooter and can actually take a shot with the defense closing in?
I think the greatest advantage that the Bulls have right now is their youth. Even if we are not making moves to acquire better talent (which we did), most of our players will be progressing their games. The Bulls will have improved regardless of the Hamilton acquisition, and with him I am having a hard time projecting where we rank. Is it heinous to say that the Bulls with a healthy Noah and Boozer plus the addition of Hamilton fair even better than 62 wins? Honestly if everyone stays healthy I could see them improving to 67 wins.
With that said I have no idea if we will beat the Heat. I feel like as it stands now, we have the ability to beat them; we can beat them. I just don't have any clue as to what realistic shot we have in taking them down.
What do you think?
