yeah, some pacers fan came on and said it was bs that mayo got traded

and i think allen tweeted it was bs too. I think memphis will never trade with chicago. It seems like the GM really has something against the bulls FO.

Grizz' owner Heisley's company is based out of Chicago......I think there is some jealously contributing to the situation.

Shockingly, Mayo’s got a better shot at being traded to the Bulls from the Pacers than from Memphis.

You really have to wonder what the hell the Grizzlies were even thinking...

I mean, I know that Juice has his detractors, but Josh McRoberts!?! That guy can’t shoot, pass, dribble, run, walk briskly, jump or count past 11. His only value is to get thrown out for attempting to hit the opposing teams superior center. Looks like we have to deal with that joker again next year. Also, Indiana just became a lot less frightening.

Although he may not personally strike fear in the eyes of many

but he very well could have been a great asset to that team. By having Mayo that could have really solidified their starting 5 you look at addinf Mayo to a backcourt that already holds Hill and Collison and their backcourt depth would have been pretty darn good! Along with their bigs 2 go with their backcourt, they could have been a very formidable opponent for many years 2 come.

I personally, am glad that this deal did not come to pass, and although not likely OJ is still an SG option, for us Bulls’ fans to keep dreaming of haha!!

Yeah, what he said...

the fear was that, with Mayo, we would have a conference rival with a solid starting 5 and deep bench. Instead, they are exactly where the Bulls were last year except without the MVP, a decent center, a roster free from Jeff Foster, or a literate fan base.

I don't think anyone ever considered him a great player

Personally, I always just thought he was an outstanding fit. Him and Rose are friendly, he can hit shots, he can defend, he’s not scared, and thinks he’s better than he actually is (I believe Simmons calls those "irrational confidence guys), and most importantly, he’s a feisty player that competes. I think if you put him on a team like the Bulls where he can fill a certain role, and got coached by someone like Thibs, he would really flourish.

When the time comes....

I would definitely agree and root for an Asik/Korver or Brewer, a first, and couple of 2nd rounders for Mr. Mayo.

But like I said, when the time comes. I wouldn’t trade Taj, solely due to Booz’s injury history and Taj’s history to be able to fill-in without much overall talent loss.

So, as stated previously, when the Bulls FO is forced 2 make a decision on Asik, then and ONLY then would I make the previously proposed trade. I also think it would be a wise deal for the Grizz, adding C depth and being able to put Asik in a lineup with Randolph Randolph could do his thing and Asik could do his. The two players, along with Gasol would mesh very well together providing and extremely formidable frontcourt.

Of course, as for the Bulls, this would plug that SG hole they have, with a stud promising young and talented player. Mayo can handle the rock, create his own shots, and is an slightly above agerage to average defender.

Like I said, the deal would be a win-win. Although with their douche of a GM, I doubt it will ever happen due to his on-going seemingly dire hatred towards the Bulls.

let's offer korver and a second rounder

grizz’ll say no, but that’s okay. We’ll sign mayo for $5per after he plays out his contract or somethin’.

No way would I move Asik (at least for Mayo)

I love Taj, but he’s definitely the more expendable piece

absurd

Asik and Brewer were two elite-level defensive players last year. Their offense isn’t as impressive as OJ’s, but OJ does not win basketball games. Sure he has some potential, but I wouldn’t put it higher than a first round pick and a role player. Or Asik by himself.

I'd love to sign mayo he rocked in the playoffs him and rose have played together

Mayo and rose could be long time running mates for the bulls..I keep hearing mayo isent good but hes a all around player.Hes just stuck with the wrong team.

if Rip signs with Miami, Portland, or New York

then fuck it. as much as people don’t like to make a move just for the sake of doing it, i’d almost say doing just that is better than rolling with Keith for another year
