I don't understand

how you can use Pippen and Boozer in the same comparison. Stockton/Malone would be far better.

Let us cavort like the Greeks of old! You know the ones I mean.

he's just saying

boozer needs to be robin to rose’s batman

I wouldn't say so...

The Bulls have DRose, and 3 other guys who were probably better than anyone on those teams not named Jordan or Pippen. Horace and Kukoc might come close though.

rodman is in the hall of fame

i dont see any else besides drose on our team being a hall of famer

Should've traded for Melo.

Asik

…in the turkish hall of fame. Or Mirotic, in the BaB HOF

I'd be willing to bet it's Joakim, with centers being such a lost art nowadays...

But let’s get the three-peat first, aye?

by wrigleyrocker12 on Oct 2, 2011 9:25 PM CDT up reply actions

Even if that were true

They still don’t have one player as good as either Jordan or Pippen.

by metalkiwis on Oct 2, 2011 1:56 PM CDT up reply actions

You wouldn't say DRose in his prime, or maybe even sooner, could be equal to Pippen?

Granted that they’re two TOTALLY different players…

he has to make an all-defensive first team

before i put him even close to pip.

he has the edge in MVPs but the only reason why pippen didn’t win in 93-94 is cause hakeem the dream won it that year… and i’d be hard pressed to say he shouldn’t have (even though pippen’s season was amazing)

Could be. Is not currently. I know we all hope Rose outshines even MJ but the kid has a long way to go. And the rest of the team kind of sucks. Noah is a fun player, and a great fit for Thibs system. But he is far from a complete player. Probably not a top ten center today, in an era where the position is at a low. Deng is nice. Above average, even. Same can be said for Boozer.
I think I may just be down on the team because I have not seen them play in so long. This lockout is going to wreck my interest in pro hoops with my non-existent attention span.

ya know..never thought of this

"Psycho: I'm liable to go Michael/take your pick: Jackson, Tyson, Jordan - Game 6."

by Belize on Oct 2, 2011 10:56 PM CDT reply actions

What?

Rose already has his Pippen. His name is Luol Deng.

Boozer needs to become the Horace Grant or Dennis Rodman for this team to be great.

Carlos Boozer will never be Horace Grant or Dennis Rodman.

by Doshi on Oct 3, 2011 9:00 AM CDT reply actions

Not really...

Deng needs to be able to shoulder more of the offensive load to be compared to Pippen…Pippen is the one that actually ran the offense and he could get his own shot if MJ was getting doubled or getting a rest. Deng has stepped up defensively as the defensive leader but he still can’t offer enough offensive support to Rose.

by C Smoove on Oct 3, 2011 8:10 PM CDT up reply actions

no kidding. i love deng and think hes awesome, but pippen had PG-level assist rates. deng cant even be counted on to take the ball up the court to spell derrick.

"Ponchon," says Courteline, "has lived for over twenty-five years in the same house. It has been sold several times, and the different owners always stipulate in the deed that Ponchon will have no rent to pay; all this, without his ever having asked for it."

maybe this team is absolutely nothing like those teams.

you're crazy...

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

by piccolomair on Oct 3, 2011 5:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Maybe people should stop caring what anyone from those teams think.

The Bulls need another ballhandler/scorer in the backcourt. I’d settle for another BJ Armstrong.

how about another john paxson type...

theres this one guy, kirk hinrich…..hes like the closest thing to john paxson in this generation of ballers….

Ballhandler/scorer…..not circle dribbling brick mason

by C Smoove on Oct 5, 2011 9:49 PM CDT up reply actions

I feel not every team should be compared to the 90s Bulls

How about this, Boozer needs to be Rose’s Shaq or Rose’s Rasheed or Rose’s Manu Ginobli

by tuluse on Oct 6, 2011 11:28 PM CDT reply actions

I think measuring the current team against the best of all time is a good thing. Why would we aspire to reach lesser levels? I want to see Rose get his proper sidekick. Like someone that is big, can defend, play the 2 and bring some toughness and push Derrick a little.
On an unrelated note I saw Dwight Howard on some show with xzibit and Ryan Seacrest building a house and it reignited my daydreams of trading Noah for Howard. I hope however the lockout ends it leaves us in a position to make a very good offer for Howard if he forces his way out of Miami. My completely made up off the top of my head just now list of top three sidekicks for Rose has Howard at the top followed by Blake Griffith and then Kobe.
