2. PG Derrick Rose(notes) and PF Carlos Boozer(notes), Chicago Bulls
The number one draft selection in the 2008 NBA Draft, Derrick Rose grew up in the south side of Chicago before having one stellar year at the University of Memphis. An explosive player, Rose's hard work and amiable personality have helped him become one of the faces of the NBA. Despite this, the Bulls had struggled in the weak Eastern Conference before Rose, going 33 and 49 in the 2007-2008 season. Rose led them to two straight .500% seasons, but had difficutly pushing Chicago over the hump. To help remedy this, the Bulls went out during the offseason and signed Carlos Boozer. The offensive-minded power forward had been the main scoring threat for the Utah Jazz and the Bulls organization hoped that he could team up with Rose and take the Bulls deep into the playoffs.

Unfortunately, Boozer was injured for the first 17 games of the season. Since his return, however, Rose and Boozer have combined to average 43.4 points, 12.8 rebounds, 10.7 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Chicago is in first place in the Central Division.
