Does Pietrus interest any Bulls fans?
The Suns have a logjam at the forward position and run what looks like a 12 man rotation. Would a small trade for Pietrus help the Bulls out? He can play the 2 and 3, brings perimeter D, and the 3 ball. I think we could nab him for the following:
Suns: Pietrus
Bulls: James Johnson, Scalabine, and Bogans.
The Suns would have to waive a player and the Bulls can pick up a D-leaguer and *shutter* resign Scalabrine when he gets inevitably cut from the Suns.
And the Bulls have:
Rose/Watson
Brewer/Pietrus
Deng/Korver/Pietrus
Boozer/Gibson
Noah/Asik/Thomas
+D-leaguer and Scal as inactives.

I just don't see any reason why anyone would take Bogans or Scalabrine.

Toss a second rounder or two?
I remember once former Bull Dave Corzine staring at a stat sheet after a loss when he had one rebound and Michael Jordan offering, "One more rebound than a dead man."

Scalabrine has a non-guaranteed contract
So a team would take him just to cut him.
After last night's win,
why do we want to tinker with a winning combination, which has every chance of going to the ECF’s or Finals?
Really?

Because being good should not be a preclusion from getting better.
grrrr
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).
Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

There are two teams in a trade
Why would the Suns give up Pietrus in this trade scenario? The Suns are rebuilding and would likely demand a first round pick. Pietrus is a Ronnie Brewer-type that can also shoot the corner 3. But he has been on poor defensive teams his entire career, something the bulls can’t afford at the perimeter with Boozer operating on the interior. Hate to say it guys, but between the cap situation, the expiring CBA, and the tightness of the Reinsdorf purse strings, this Bulls team is the one we’ll take to the playoffs.
It wasn't Bartman's fault. It was God's.

the magic were not a poor defensive team.

Dwight Howard
Is the only reason this was not the Suns east. Or have you not seen Vince Carter / Rashard Lewis / Hedo Turkoglu / Marcin Gortat / Gilbert Arenas / Jason Richardson play team defense? Again, Pietrus’ individual defensive play is above average. But in terms of team defense, I would call the Magic below average.

thibs gets a lot of credit for our good team defense
so why doesn’t van gundy get credit for bad team defense?
Because despite having all those lackluster defenders, the Magic haven't finished worse than 6th in Def Eff since 05-06
Well, isn't what LeBron did last night the living embodiment of The Secret, leaving millions on the table and turning himself into a hometown villain, all for the sake of winning?

Pietrus is expiring
I dont see him getting an extension with the Suns for what you pointed out, rebuilding mode. They get James Johnson, a young project that suits them more, and a second rounder (?) plus fluff to make the salaries work.

For this pu-pu platter? Of course.
I doubt the Suns would make this trade though. What’s the point for them? To get James Johnson who is in the D-League right now?
Yeah it doesn't make any sense
Have a logjam of perimeter oriented forwards? Here take a terrible one in exchange for a decent one.
No, but I would like to get Rip.
There’s been talk that Detroit will buy out Hamilton’s contract. He would be a nice option for the Bulls.
pietrus is not very good, and i would prefer bogans' allergy to shooting and predilection
for keeping the ball moving over pietrus’ chucking.

Not bad, not great
If we didn’t give up much would be no more than a mild improvement
