This is my first activity on this Blog, but I ask an interesting question. Which Bulls' role player will be the key to success in the playoffs?
Without Boozer for the first two months Taj played wonderful and provided excellent on ball defense, shot blocking, offensive rebounding, and even sported a consistent 15-footer. However, upon the return of Booze, Gibson saw less minutes and became offensively inefficient and out of rhythm. As of late he has been playing well. With Noah out, Kurt Thomas has been phenomenal, bringing great post defense and rebounding. Also provides some offense with his jumper. Kurt's value will be most used versus Shaq and Dwight Howard come playoff time. Kyle Korver has been inconsistent all year in his shooting, however he has seemed to have found his stroke recently after hitting the three late to beat Miami. Even if the Bulls acquire a SG, korver will have a big role to fill with his jumper when teams play more zone versus the Bulls in the playoffs. Kyle has to make them pay. Lastly, Ronnie Brewer has show from game 1 that he is a fantastic off ball defender and recently has been much better in on ball defense. Ronnie can also sneak in the dunk on a baseline cut and hit the wide open 15 footer. He can't stretch the floor much tho.
