This Cavs team, especially with the injuries, might have the worst roster I've ever seen

No, there's something else-
he looks slower, and he isn’t getting up as high. It may be just that he’s worn down – FIBA, crazy minutes, etc – but compare the speed of his moves now to the quickness and explosiveness he was showing against LA with today.
I’m not saying it’s permanent, that we should gnash our teeth or whatever, but the kid looks sluggish.

That's what Rose needs. He needs to get his scoring going first
Then pass off of that. It’s like he’s trying to hard to pass first, score second, but that’s not him. It’s not his game.
Yeah, 2 for 5 with 2 turnovers is what this team needs for Rose.
He’s been great overall, but he needs to pick up his game.
Shit like this kills my super high buzz about this team.
This Cleveland lineup would set the record for least wins in league history, yet they’re lighting the Bulls up. And I’m saying this knowing that we’re gonna win by 15.
It wasn't that different with the championship Bulls teams.
We’d play a team close for 3 quarters out of boredom, then win by 12-20.
I don't really give a shit about those teams,
but that said I guarantee you they would slaughter this team. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a lineup this bad before. New Jersey would have gone 82-0 against these guys.
We're so gonna get humiliated by Boston or Miami (or both)
Until Keith Bogans is taken out of the starting lineup, it's: Tommy Del Thibo
No way.

I love Rose,
but I don’t think I’m ever going to see the 40-50 point explosion I expect when teams like this show up on the schedule. If I were Rose, I’d go out and try to drop 2000 on CLE, NJ, MINN, instead of letting everybody else go to work and then wake up late in games. I’m dying to see him just go off, Wade style.
Hell he avgs 14ppg
Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!
That's without Boozer in the lineup
no way those numbers stand when he gets back, they were already dropping as Boozer worked himself back.
by Khalid El-Amin on Jan 1, 2011 6:33 PM CST up reply actions
Huh?
He’s averaging that for the season. Put backs and hustle points matter too. Without a Sg, we miss whatever he gave us on the offensive end.
Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!
Yes...
He is averaging that on the season… While Boozer was out mostly.
by Khalid El-Amin on Jan 1, 2011 6:36 PM CST up reply actions
Whats your point?
What do you think he’ll average when both he and Booz are healthy? I bet it’s not that far off from where his average is now.
My point is I doubt it's his scoring we are missing...
His last five or so games with Boozer…
11, 12, 9, 9, 13, 6.
by Khalid El-Amin on Jan 1, 2011 6:39 PM CST up reply actions
You think those points have nothing to do with the fact that he was injured??
by Stacey_Is_King on Jan 1, 2011 6:40 PM CST up reply actions
I think they do...
I think they also have something to do with adding a far superior scoring big man too.
by Khalid El-Amin on Jan 1, 2011 6:41 PM CST up reply actions
Well, considering he probably won't need to play as many minutes once he and Boozer are both back
who knows which factor will have, or has, the most impact.
by Stacey_Is_King on Jan 1, 2011 6:43 PM CST up reply actions
At the end of the day he makes us a better team no doubt
I hope he’s keeping his conditioning up while he’s gone.
by Khalid El-Amin on Jan 1, 2011 6:49 PM CST up reply actions
i agree with khalid
its not noahs scoring thats seems like its missing in this game or the past couple games, its the cohesion he brings to the roster when hes on the floor. Rose hasnt seemed like the same rose since noahs been out there are layups rose has missed which noah wouldve anticipated, tipped in, and the world would be amazed at both roses ability to get into the rim, and noahs excellent tip in…now instead we get deflated every time rose does a brilliant move just to miss…
I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!
nice summary
I am definitely missing tip ins
by JockstrapNoah on Jan 1, 2011 6:44 PM CST up reply actions
Our Starting SG is getting 3ppg
We don’t have the luxury to lose any points on the team. Noah should still get his points because they come at the line and on hustle. They aren’t running plays for him. Also his production may have went down because of his finger, not Boozer coming back.
Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!
You think adding Boozer has no effect?
That’s just silly.
by Khalid El-Amin on Jan 1, 2011 6:43 PM CST up reply actions
I didn't say it has no effect
but they run plays for Boozer, not Rose so why is that an effect? Noah get’s his points off of put backs and hustle. I say wait the Noah gets back healthy and then see what he does. The guy was injured during the span of time Boozer has been back. And yes they miss his points.
Hey Rose. I don't see the appeal!
Well the PNR plays they run for Boozer
Are the PNR plays they used to run for Noah, so I hope they aren’t missing the points too much.

What the FUCK is it with Jamison going off on us whenever we meet?
He plays like crap most of the time against other teams.

Fucking pathetic.
Rose missed like three layups already.
Unbelievable. This has to be the Cav's best quarter in like a month
"Are you drowning them or makin' love to them?"
Somebody help me out with this.
Why do we have the dumbest end of quarter offense in the league? Couldn’t Rose have taken that same exact shot three seconds later and not allow the team to nearly get a layup?
Even worse defense
To almost let the guy go coast to coast without any kind of contest till he was inside the paint.
No guarantee he has the same look
Plus if he felt confident, it’s always better to shoot it then to be hesitant then shoot it.

Nobody else was out there defending; he has a pull up J any time he wants, anywhere he wants.
Yes he could've
but I highly doubt it matters at all. And besides, if he missed, at least he gave his teammates a chance for an offensive putback/2nd chance bucket

To me, and most coaches I've heard talk about it,
you gotta get the last shot in those situations.
Rose seems to hang in the air
before releasing his jump shot, and has very good technique. Can’t wait to see how it’ll look in a season or two. I’m also enjoying how outspoken he’s becoming.

Rose always goes too early in the shotclock at the end of quarters!
Giving the other team enough time for a good shot or lay-up. How many times has that happened this season??

It gets old real fast doesn't it?
A lovely story:
One day, long, long ago, there lived a woman who didn't whine, nag or bitch. That would be me....
But that was a long time ago and it was just that one day.

no not on Rose, on the big men who are supposed to plug the middle
by Playboy_BullV on Jan 1, 2011 7:28 PM CST up reply actions
I always blame the initial defender.
You don’t rely on help defense, a good defender rarely needs it.
That's a shitty view on defending the pick and roll.

I hope you don't coach
Otherwise I feel bad for your players. Help line defense is the most integral part of a man to man defense
"Mental toughness is to physical as four is to one." - Bob Knight
Of course it is.
But I think you still stress man to man defense
Without help line
It’s not defense
"Mental toughness is to physical as four is to one." - Bob Knight
You're right.
I just thought that Rose assumed the help was there, and let up a bit.
Like I said right above,
you don’t just let the other team do what it want’s. You can feel the PnR coming, and get up on your defender to prevent the screen. There are many other ways too.
If the help defender is a matador
IT doesn’t matter how hard you you go around the screener.

Dude. You can play the best defense and someone can still get around you. Big men are supposed to wall the hole.
Bad rotation by Thomas/Boozer.
by Playboy_BullV on Jan 1, 2011 7:31 PM CST up reply actions
I didn't say it wasn't.
But Rose didn’t fight to get around the screen.
It's called help line
It’s on both Rose and more importantly the big man
"Mental toughness is to physical as four is to one." - Bob Knight
the only thing that's good right now
is that 12/12 free throw
This is incredibly ironic, at the moment.
Losing to the worst team in the NBA, yet our FT% is perfect.

Yup.
That shot was beyond selfish. Kobe would light up a teammate for turning him down like that.
Who gives a shit what Kobe would do?

I do.
I’d like to see Rose get in a teammates face for a dumb play.
There seem to be a billion things
you’d like to see Rose do. And you bitch about everyone of them he doesn’t.

Ben Gordon would make this team scary...just scary

I’m talking about a guy that scares teams to the point where they don’t know who to guard. BG would be our Ray Allen with this lineup.

He’s better when he tries to get to the rim and doesn’t worry about getting to the line.

Is anybody reminded of what the Spurs did to us in the 3rd Q back on circus trip?
Put a foot to our offense’s throat basically, with stifling D, after we were giving them the business in the 1st half?
We’re doing the same to the Cavs I think. It’s immensely satisfying.
I'm still pissed we lost that game
