That’s a joke, right?

i knew there would be some like that

im sure people were able to see the word piccolo, although mair made no sense to them….so i thought that people would think that i was some sort of piccolo player. I also thought there would be another group that would just see the work pic, and seperate colomair which sounds like it might be some word but one no one has heard of (which in a sense is true)….basically growing up, i over analyzed the character piccolo, and did what people did with jedis from the first star wards, applied his “teachings to my life” (to be fair i was like 7) as i got older i enjoyed finding the “piccolo-like” characters in stories and movies, and considered the dbz piccolo as a subjective type of character as opposed to a name for one. People who have grown up with me know that i liked to associate myself with piccolo esque traits i.e. since middle school i loved to stand with my arms crossed much like piccolo, my favorite color has always been green, i prefer quiet heroes that are a bit dark and never the main characters of stories/movies/games. I like intellegence and speed over power and strength…and so on and so fourth.

Anyway, in dbz they had something called fusion technique, which mixed two characters into one, and in doing so the two characters names would also be fused….so my first email address…and my online moniker for the longest time has been piccolomair which is a fusion of my name and the word/name piccolo…..

Its wierd no doubt, but its a thing ive been using since middle school…

Opinions

1) its bull that durant is lower than wade, ledouche, and kobe.
2) how is deng rated higher than noah
3)noah at 73???

Chicago Jazz > Three Am-Egos

by chicago030 on Sep 23, 2010 9:24 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

i dont think theyve altered the rating system much

so i should be able to explain. In 2k, overall rating is more of a symbolism of how far a player is in becoming…perfect. Thats the best way i can define it. So in terms of a kevin durant, he is 91% there, because there are plenty of things he still isnt all that great at. The noah at 73 and deng doesnt signify that they suck or even completely signify that luol deng is that much better than noah. When you think about noah, his abilities are basically rebounding and defending, with weaknesses in overall offensive games, strength, and hops. A guy like luol deng has an overall better offensive game and for his position, not too far off in terms of defense and rebounding, and thats why he is a mere 4 pts higher.

Its not to say its a perfect rating system, its not, its much like any stat given to basketball that comes from some sort of equation, in that it over values some aspects of the game, and undervalues others….by looking at melo and his 93….i would presume that what is over valued is offense and what is undervalued is defense and rebounding.

When you play the game though, noah will actually be a beast…its how it was in 2k10, and i havent read anything to indicate that it wont be so in 2k11.

See guys we’re trading two 77 and 73 for a 93!!

Melo will bring the rings.

by sin on Sep 23, 2010 11:34 PM CDT reply actions

Haha

luckily, 2k11 changed the ai so that trading two mid 70 guys for a 90 guy is far more diffiult and things like team chemistry and role play a part in the trading process…sorry sin….i dont think the 2k11 bulls would make the trade

Can you turn off chemistry and player role like you could in past games? I hate that bs, I just want to play the fucking games

Well, isn't what LeBron did last night the living embodiment of The Secret, leaving millions on the table and turning himself into a hometown villain, all for the sake of winning?

u could they always have the option

but if you play association, im not sure why you would want to…at least to me, its part of the fun, and is the thing that keeps me from trying to make the most crazy trade ever…but yea, i dont see why (and havent read) they would take away the option to take those things off since its its always been an option.

by piccolomair on Sep 24, 2010 11:33 AM CDT up reply actions

You couldn't turn it off in the first version of 2K I bought (think it was 2K5) and I just hated the arbitrary interviews with

players when you’d have to pick a response that would affect that player’s rating. I like to use my own judgment when making trades. I just don’t like dealing w/ that stuff. I want to play a game, maybe check out stats and standings, and start the next.

by snley on Sep 24, 2010 12:45 PM CDT up reply actions

whoa

i never played that, but they had interviews? I thought the player chemistry and role stuff was newer though…..if i remember right

2k5-2k7-only had team chemistry (i never owned 2k5, only played a few quickplay games)
2k8-Was i believe when player chemistry was first introduced

I could be wrong though

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

by piccolomair on Sep 24, 2010 1:12 PM CDT up reply actions

Doesn't the player chemistry tie into team chemistry?

It wasn’t press interviews, but with management. The player would come in and say something along the lines of, “I really like where this team is headed.” As the executive you’d be given 4 random responses to choose from like, “Great! Keep up the hard work!”, “Don’t get overconfident.”, “We’re glad you’re part of it”.

by Stacey_Is_King on Sep 23, 2010 11:37 PM CDT up reply actions

Dude 77 + 73 = 150, which is way more than 93

The Nuggets clearly need to throw in 57 worth of talent to make it work.

Pat Riley is the devil.

Funny thing is......

Rookie Jordan on the game is 79ovr and John Wall is 81ovr. Rookies should be under 80ovr IMO.

by RED_BULL on Sep 23, 2010 11:37 PM CDT reply actions

the same actually

but yea…i agree with your point..luckily these games do updates throughout the season, depending on what the players are actually playing. So yea these arent absolute at all…

by Belize on Sep 24, 2010 11:41 AM CDT up reply actions

i know the rookie you get to put on any team is 79

but i dont know if the actual rookie jordan (from the jordan challenge) is at 79. Also like i sort of talked about, the rating system isnt absolute in this game. A guy at 79 can be better than a guy at 81…i guess really the best way to use the ratings is when comparing two guys at the same position. Also height plays a part into it as well

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

I hope they fix Shaq

To me it always felt like his ratings never changed. I’m so tired of him outrunning me up the court.

I'm cuckoo for Kukoc!!!

by Yibs on Sep 24, 2010 12:19 AM CDT via mobile reply actions

2k7 i believe was the first year of

lock on defense…and it was so cheap, a guy like shaq could shut down steve nash due to it, and he was the cover athlete so he was presented as if he was still the dominant LA shaq…so yea..he was cheap…

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

The ratings suck

They got Wall ahead of Westbrook, curry and jennings, plus they got dirk only two point higher than him which is insane.

by Slick Ric on Sep 24, 2010 12:21 AM CDT reply actions

i just saw dirk

that is wack….maybe they got melo and dirk confused? But dirk should be at least a high 80 not a low one…id say something like 87

by piccolomair on Sep 24, 2010 1:26 AM CDT up reply actions

nah i like the 85 rating

this is how im looking at it

95 and above is hall of famer
90 and above is top 10 level
85 and above is all star level
80-84 borderline all stars
75-79 is solid starter level
70-74 is great role player level
60-69 your situational good reserve guys
anything below 60 is end of bench fodder

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

Ben Wallace – 74
Joakim Noah – 73

ben wallace is

like 99 strength, 99 vertical, and then like 90 low post defense…..and then hes like in the 60s everywhere else…u guys are reading way too much into the ratings…
