Get Melo

I`ve been thinking can we trade for Anthony, and the answer is yes. The Nuggets would like young players, picks and expiring contracts. We have two of the three. Nuggets wouldn`t want to trade him to a western team that was relavent. So trading him to the east only makes sense. So melo wants to be trade, but I`m sure he wants to go to a team thats competing for something right. But thats not what nuggets have in mind. The main teams that are in the running for melo is- Kings,New Jersey, and T`wolves. But trading to those teams would be stupid because they would have to gut there team for the most part. The Bull can offer decent players and picks for Melo. So I put together a few trade ideas as far as teams he may go to.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=24hmkky

Bulls and Nuggets makes this trade because: It let them compete for a playoff spot and they have young players in Taj-JJ. Nuggets need big man depth. The bulls give nuggets depth and a starting 3 in luol.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=28yyfah

Nets and Nuggets: This trade seems good but a team that has cash to spare they may send JR(Choke you out)Smith out with Melo. But Nets are gutting there team. 3 PF and 2 SF. They are getting young players and rid of JR. Then how do Nets stay competative. Sure Harris,Morrow,Melo,May,Lopez might make it to the playoffs if harris stays healthy.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2g88qqx

T` Wolves and Nuggets: This is really a nice trade for both teams, as far as potential goes. The nuggets get young players and rid themselves or JR and Balkman. This trade is good if Nuggets want to rebuild from scratch. That means next to be traded would be everyone except Afflalo and Lawson oh  NeNe he`s injury prone but when healthy he`s good. But this trade also guts T`Wolves roster and it takes Wolves youth from them trade isnt likely.Besides gettin a nut case right back if this trade happens. Beasley= JR Smith

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2e5b9a3

Kings and Nuggets: This is a great trade for Denver but not so much for Sac-town. Melo and Evans would be great together. But once again Kings gut their roster. Kings start from nothing again. So this trade isnt likely. Denver would love this trade and can compete. But Kings not so sure.

Houston and Nuggets: Trade wont happen because this trade might bite them in the ass(playoffs)if they met in the first round. Thats why i say they may trade him to the East. Its a good trade, both teams will be able to compete with that roster. Yao might not be healthy the whole season. Which he say he may retire. But Houston would have no front line. But that would be a good team if Yoa stays healthy.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2cbk58s

Clips and Nuggets: Good trade for Nuggets I`m sure thats what they want not so much for the clips. They`ll have no size what so ever. You need size in the Western conference to compete. Can`t see Clips giving up on Blake Griffin his ceiling is to high. He`s a rebounding-shot-blockin Amare Stoudemire. Trade would be great for denver though. This trade isnt likely.

But all in all Melo is a great player. That a lot of teams want, but dont have the pieces to do so.Nuggets wont get a blow me outta town deal for Melo. Nuggets wont get equal value in any trade for him. Then they may try to package him with Jr. If so they might as well blow up the team. Cause the best players are near the end  of thier careers Billups, martin, birdman, harrington etc. But I`m sure there are some three team trade that can happen that can get him on any team. Where will Melo end up who nows.

Misleading title.

if I was Denver

I’d trade Melo to the Clippers for Gordon, Aminu, Kaman and a future 1st round pick. I don’t see a better offer than that on the table anywhere. You than can roll with Billups, Gordon, Aminu, Nene, Kaman with K-Mart, Lawson, JR Smith and Affalo off the bench. That is a nice team.

If you want to completely rebuild you can shop Billups and Kmart too. I have to think a team like Orlando or Portland may be very interested in getting a guy like Billups.

I'd think the Clippers are just out of the mix until December

If I were them, I’d have a hard time trading Kaman and Gordon both to get Melo. Either way you still end up with a massively incomplete team that Melo would probably bitch about playing for.

I posted it in the other thread, but I still think the Bobcats are the obvious choice

1. Melo has a shoe deal with MJ
2. The Bobcats have Erick Dampier, who has a non guaranteed contract, so they could provide a lot of financial relief to the Nuggets just like a team under the cap could.
3. If the Bobcats were willing, they could make a credible offer.

Suppose they wanted to expand the deal to include Billups.
Billups/Melo/JR Smith for Damipier ($13M cash, basically), G. Wallace, Boris Diaw, DJ Augustin, and G. Henderson

The Bobcats end up with Larry Brown coaching
1- Billups, Livingston
2- SJax, JR Smith
3- Melo
4- Tyrus, Najera
5- Nazr/Diop

That seems like exactly the sort of team of knuckleheads that Larry Brown could do scary things with.

I don't think the shoe deal has any impact whatsoever

But the biggest problem is that Melo has to want to play in Charlotte and it’s doubtful that he does. Without Melo agreeing to an extension, no team is going to trade significant assets for him.
