These games count so let us hope they go all out from the opening tip.
Game can be found on ESPN Classic (really?) and ESPN 3. Replay tonight on ESPN 2.

I think I like the FIBA game more
I like how they allow a little physicality. The NBA game has gotten a little lame with all the superstar calls and pretty boy stuff. With FIBA, it’s like watching a real sporting event, instead of a bogus wrestling match

Just that I would rather have him than Ben on the Bulls. He’s more of the prototypical 2 guard than Ben is in that he has more size and can defend better (he’s not great now but after only 2 years in the league there is no reason his D will not improve.) There are few basketball players in the world who have better strokes from the perimeter than Ben, but Gordon is a good enough shooter and doesn’t have the iffy shot-selection that Ben has.

He's actually one of the few players that I've seen a play in high school
and multiple games collegiately. Also, I have the package and have watched the Clips from time to time. I’m not saying it’s a no doubter that he’ll be better, but if you were to ask me which player I’d take (which Rudey did), Eric would be my guy.

I love Eric. The only thing that worries me is that he’s been a little injury prone. Other than that, I think he’s been used poorly in LA. Half of the battle for a good player is landing in the right spot. I think that BG got lucky in being drafted by the Bulls. He was able to provide exactly what we needed.

Comparing Ben from his last season with the Bulls to Eric last year
They have roughly equivalent TS%, but Ben took about 3 more shots per 36 (which was also his lowest number of attempts as a Bull). He had a better rebounding%, ast%, tov%, higher usg. Offensively it’s not even close. Ben is far superior.
Eric would have to be quite the defender to make up that gap.
When Eric goes and wins a playoff game on his own
then Eric. Until then Ben.

being as efficient or more than eric. ben is also better at running the point for spells. eric is a better defender.

He looked pretty good
Still doesn’t finish well at the basket and his FTs need work. But he was made for the paint and is not afraid to take a shot.
He will need time to adjust to the NBA game, but I expect him to be a productive player in the 2nd half of the season.

But got deep positioning regularly. He was all over the boards and he occupies a lot of space defensively.

He pretty much only played the first half
He’s not going to rack up 10 assists in any game. Too many iso players on USA. Gay and Iggy just do not move without the ball at all and their is no real interior presence to dish to.
Also, I read that Rose had 3 assists instead of two, but I guess that isn’t much of a difference anyway.

It’s quite the battle to not do it though. Rose’s game is just different. Even with added shooters on the Bulls roster I would not be surprised if his assists per game only go up to 7. His greatness as a point guard will not be judged in point guard statistics, but in leadership and clutch play.
As long as his TS% goes up and his rebounds/assists go up a little bit I will be happy.

anyone judging derrick's performance off the box score isn't going to get an accurate picture
i thought derrick played a great game. he’s clearly the one running the offense and calling out plays and positioning players throughout the game offensively. he really looks like a leader out there and he’s the only player that consistently and efficiently keeps the ball in motion. I think his passing/court vision/reads all look outstanding. Coach K goes to Derrick just about everytime team USA is in a critical situation. I’d really give derrick a high grade for his performance thus far. I think a lot of people look at the box score and think that E Gordon might be the second best player on this team but during the game it is clear that if derrick isnt the most important player on the team, he’s at worst second most. Obv KD does the bulk of the scoring but Rose has been just as important. Also, DRose has thrown a bunch of alley oops which was something he needed to improve and did. I’m excited knowing that the Bulls will have some additional scoring threats this season after seeing the way that DRose has run the offense this summer.
