If it doesn't specify "partially unguaranteed"...
…are we to assume that it’s fully unguaranteed? If so, and I beg forgiveness for my ignorance, how does that make it different than a team option?
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).
Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.
1) Yes
2) Not a lot, really. But there are a few differences.
a) Note that in Korver’s case, there’s no guarantee date given. This means that he won’t become guaranteed until the league-wide guarantee date of January 10th, so we (or whoever owns him) can cut him before then and save money, paying only $500,000 or for time served during the season, whichever is greater. That’s a significant advantage to doing it this way around. (See also; Erick Dampier)
b) Also note the dates on Brewer and Watson’s deals; July 10th. All team options must be decided upon before June 30th, i.e. the last day of the preceding season, so this gives the Bulls a bit more flexibility, as they can see how free agency works out first. That’s a minor advantage to doing it this way around.
c) You can decline a team option and still have Bird rights on that player. However, with an unguaranteed contract, you have to waive the dude to get the savings, and waiving people means renouncing the,. So that’s a minor disadvantage.
d) Option years cannot be for a salary less than that of the previous season. Unguaranteed years, however, can. So by making them unguaranteed, the Bulls (i n he cases of Brewer and Watson) were able to make their contracts go down a bit as well, should they be kept on. Giggidy.

CJ Watson's pop-up thing is wrong. Says "1.2" not 10.2
Just fyi

Asik's deal is only 2 years, huh?
Also, is that $9.3 million cap hold figure for Noah the equivalent of his maximum salary?
Pat Riley is the devil.
No. From the Salary cap FAQ:
Noah’s qualifying offer is a 35.5% raise on his fourth season.

If Asik's deal is only 2 years
isnt that pretty bad in that we wont get bird rights for him when its up?
It's two years guaranteed
Click on the link and you’ll see that we have a team option on the 3rd year. So we will be able to pick up his bird rights if they are worth having.

Asik is not under contract for three years, only two. Because he’ll be a free agent with less than three years experience, the Bulls can make him into a restricted free agent (whether he likes it or not) by extending a qualifying offer. And if they do, that’ll be the amount of the QO. But even if they do so, there’s nothing to stop Asik buggering off back to Turkey or wherever. He is only under contract for two years.

Well there's not much to stop him from going back to Turkey anyways right?
Assuming the other team is willing to buy out his contract
Thanks
I am used to DX’s color coding system, which has red as a team option. I appreciate all of your hard work, both gathering information and correcting people that misread things.

look at the bright side
with all the money we had on the cap this year we could barely get someone as good as Deng

Yea, I'm not that down on Deng, the player
I’m more down on Deng, the human injury report. I could live with paying him that money for what he currently does for the next few years, it’s just that I have serious doubts about whether he’ll actually be able to stay on the floor to produce those results. Also, his commitment to the GB national team, while admirable, will not help things in that area
Superteams suck.
