Gar begins every press conference

But I really like this team on a personal level. Lot of guys who I enjoy rooting for. Hard-workers, no egos. I’m excited to watch them this year.

their offense obviously starts with defense and rebounding.

But to keep him would be a Plus for the bulls If they dont overpay him….Hes a Purdue Boilermaker grew up in Fort Wayne Indiana and you gotta love the hometown type of players that you can keep around

All smiles for now...

All I know is that Boozer better not pull any of the whiny sh*t he pulled in Utah his last couple years. The guy has a knack for pissing people off on his own team. He’s definitely a talent, and in any regular free agent summer, he would be one of the top prizes. Fingers crossed that the next 5 years are injury and drama free from Boozer.

LeBron is an Asshole

by leeac on Jul 9, 2010 3:34 PM CDT reply actions   1 recs

This stuff was going on before Boozer picked up his player's option before last year's free agency period.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=jy-lakersplayoffs042809

“After Utah’s first two losses in the series, Deron Williams told friends he was growing increasingly frustrated with the softness of some of his teammates. Williams has previously targeted Andrei Kirilenko for criticism, but he’s said to have also soured considerably on Carlos Boozer.

Boozer angered franchise officials and teammates alike early in the season, when he spoke openly of wanting to test his free agency this summer. It didn’t help that he made the comments while he was nursing a quadriceps injury that cost him more than half the season.

After Monday’s season-ending loss, Boozer now says he’d like to return to the Jazz, adding that he feels like "one of those cornerstone people who brought this team back to prominence." In truth, the decision might not be entirely up to him. Even if Boozer doesn’t opt out of his contract, the Jazz are expected to explore trading him and devote their resources to keeping Paul Millsap."

I would have loved for them to be a bit less secretive about who else they are going after when asked

not to mention who they are considering resigning….I think gar said brad…and some other guys…And I believe korver was mentioned to Boozer but booz said that they are keeping those comments under the raider and behind closed doors for now…as Gar reiterated..

If we let Miami dictate our plan..

we will just be furthering their control in the league.. we should be able to one-up them from now on, since we have a lot more money to spend now. They get Miller, we get Morrow AND another guy (Korver off the bench?).

by JWebb on Jul 9, 2010 3:46 PM CDT up reply actions

ok...so you throw money and mike miller to f up the heat....

But then karma bites you in your miller butt and brad leaves chicago to go start at center for the heat for league minimum…..That could happen

by dann f on Jul 9, 2010 4:25 PM CDT up reply actions

You know what, go for Morrow..

he has a ceiling unlike any of those other guys. Gimme Morrow..

by JWebb on Jul 9, 2010 3:43 PM CDT reply actions

I agree with morrow ceileing ...and i think he is gonna cost a bit less than some of the other options

But dont overpay the guy…..there are a lot of options out there to fill the bulls need either thru free agents or trades…give me a few minutes and i will give you a list of free agents and other possible players via trade that could fill the bill…Morrow would be nice and would probably be one of my top free agent choices

by dann f on Jul 9, 2010 4:02 PM CDT up reply actions

so is it done?

by NormVanBeer on Jul 9, 2010 3:48 PM CDT reply actions

JR is probably giddy knowing he now doesn't have to worry about paying the tax down the road and that he can get back

to watching his beloved White Sox

Well, isn't what LeBron did last night the living embodiment of The Secret, leaving millions on the table and turning himself into a hometown villain, all for the sake of winning?

Umm...no

Gilbert is way more of a jackass than JR. Seeing Gilberts letter actually made me appreciate that there are worse owners in the NBA than the one in Chicago.

But, if you meant you would have liked to see a fiery promise to build a team to beat MIA, I agree with that.

by diedaily23 on Jul 9, 2010 4:33 PM CDT up reply actions

Since everyone thinks MIA is a title contender and you think the Bulls are better, that means you will pay the tax to complete the team. Right?

Man guys you are missing the effect

of lebron james decision yesterday. im not going to talk about lbj what i want to talk about is the trend we better start getting used to. Look i love drose. he is a great player but what is the gaurantee of a player like drose not doing what lebron james did yesterday? he says all the right thing he is just like this whole batch of players coming into the nba shouting" show me the money". i agree hinrich was a bit overpayed, noc was overpayed, but also remember all of these guys took less money to stay with the bulls. Look at durant. he showed his classiness by signing for a team that is a small market and playing it out there. Boozer fills the need but even him he sold out on two teams on the way here. what is the point of getting a championship built by putting together three of the top players in the nba. michael jordon who is an ass of the court stood with bulls and earned each of those championships with his team.

i dont know i know i am oldschool but basketball is becoming a freakshow. i was very happy that lbj did not come to the bulls. i was upset with dwade and his bullshit tricks with the bulls.

These fucking players better shut up about legacy etc. we the fans make them. if we retarded fans did not waste our money buying there shit, going to there games etc. they are nothing! ya hear. I am going gangsta since that is the trend of the nba anyway with the posse and all that shit.

The Sad part of it all is he left his home

This team put all the chips in for him…From the very beginning and he left them…That Is just not the way to do it IMO….I dont really feel that boozer is the same type of guy that LBJ is so i am not so harsh on his moving around a little bit…but Lebron, he was the guy for Cleveland and should have stayed there at the least…only a few select players are that important to there teams and he is one of them…..I think you gotta make the run with your team….Maybe he feels like he has already done that and wanted to run..but I think he should have atleast given cleveland another 2 or 3 seasons

by dann f on Jul 9, 2010 4:51 PM CDT up reply actions

i mean boozer did a big move on cleveland a few years ago by letting him out of the contract and then go to utah. and he should have given them a few years especially since every sign the team did for cleveland was with his permission. now they are left with a team that has to be rebuilt again

Bulls NBA Contenders By 2010

by glycen on Jul 9, 2010 5:02 PM CDT up reply actions

I like a team that consists of something similar to this for the Bulls

PG: Rose/Law
SG: Morrow/Korver or Shannon Brown/Korver
SF: Deng/JJ/Korver
PF: Boozer/Gibson
C: Noah/Miller

That would be a pretty strong 10 to 11 man team…Leaving you with a Top 3 rebounding team…and a Top 5 defense most likely…

With the bulls still having 19 million to sign players with…I could see these resigns and free agency pickups leaving the bulls well under the cap unless they have to overpay someone to get them to sign…

Best case scenario is you get morrow or shannon brown for 3-4 million a year…Korver for 4 million…resign Law for 2 million…and resign brad miller for under 6 million dollars….I would love to get brown, morrow, and korver and resign miller and law but not if it means going over the cap….

by dann f on Jul 9, 2010 4:40 PM CDT reply actions

make sure its Morrow, and replace Brad Miller with Omer Asik

And I’m right there with you.

A true friend stabs you in the front - Oscar Wilde

by dantheman3k on Jul 9, 2010 4:49 PM CDT up reply actions

I just read a bit about asik...he seems to have a nice upside

I can’t see signing him to much more than 5million per year to start off with for the bulls only becuase I feel he will have to develop to the nba game and at best would be a bench option on the bulls squad but he could prove to be worth that much and far more….It would allow the bulls a lot of options in the near future if he does turn out to be as good as projected…But i cant see paying him anything more than 5 million a year at this point because he will definitely be behind Noah and Boozer for a while

by dann f on Jul 9, 2010 5:06 PM CDT up reply actions

How about Shaq as a back-up?

20 minutes off the bench would be nice.

by NittanyCub on Jul 9, 2010 4:58 PM CDT reply actions

14 million left...

Rose
Boozer
Deng
Noah
Taj
JJ
Korver….

Who else do we keep or get with the rest of the cap space??

by dann f on Jul 9, 2010 5:14 PM CDT reply actions

Iguodala

They should try to pry him away from the 76ers

by jayr67 on Jul 9, 2010 5:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Even though it still hurts

LBJ going to the Hate may be a blessing in disguise for us. Korver is a great piece and we still have the $$ to chase more good quality FA’s. This is going to be the deepest team we’ve had in a long time.

Now I want either Morrow or Reddick at the 2, Livingston at the 1, my boy AJ Ogilvy (an Aussie so I gotta love him) as a little more depth at the 4/5 spot and Asik or Brad if we can keep him.

All Star PF – check, 3pt shooting – check, size – check. Pretty great summer for mine.

Once Upon A Time. Derrick Rose. The End....
