I feel like I like this...
Maybe?
Not quite sure— House won’t provide much besides a shooter and the proverbial “veteran presence”
You must have me confused with someone else, I have never been to Chicago.
[whispers] I sexually assaulted Scottie Pippen in 1997.
Ya
I’d be very happy to end up with House. He’s a good shooter, and can even play backup PG in a pinch if Rose or Watson are hurt.
The reports from McGrady’s workout were mixed, and it sounds like he still hasn’t regained his athleticism. Throw in his statements that he wants to take over the starting job, and he just seems like a poor fit — he still thinks he’s a superstar but can’t perform like one any more.
House will accept his role and gives us another shooter.

House without a headband is wierd
BUT i just want the bulls to sign him and move on from this Tmac thing!
Obviously the three point shooting is great
but I’m not sure this is the type of player we need. House is more suited to play the one and two, we need someone more for the two and three imo. Although it would be nice to keep him away from the Celtics, a bench with Big Baby, Nate Robinson and Eddie House is easily the most obnoxious ever assembled
Superteams suck.

house and watson are basically duplicates imo
with watson maybe having a few more options on offense
i liked the tmac idea simply out of the advantage of him being able to play the 2 and 3.
6’8 with limited moblity should be able to guard the bench players off other team benches
that is if he accepts that role
someone teach me how to get Sam Smith's job when he retires
If Tmac would accept...
a DNP-CD on nights when he is not needed, 10 minutes a game most nights and willing to play within the offense, then he would be as good as House as a signing…his quotes yesterday did not indicate Tmac was ready to know his role and shut his mouth!
Thomas, Miller, Salmons, James, Pargo, Gray, MLE, and (there is no LLE thanks to the Pargo signing) will not be here with a Max Free Agent...don't get too attached.

from the video i saw it sounded like he just wanted a chance to prove himself and thats fine
if he acts differently once hes gone through training camp thats a different story

Why do we need someone for the 2 and 3?
Those are the 2 most log-jammed positions we have. We have Brewer and Korver who can both play the 2 and 3, and also JJ who can play basically the 3 only.
Also, we only have one backup PG in Watson, who is really more of a combo guard. Where is another 2/3 going to find minutes? House is a decent 12th man to bring off the bench to play spot minutes at the 2 (and maybe very rare minutes at the 1) so he can come in and hit some threes when we really need them. Seems like exactly what we could use from the 12th man.
Then again, it almost seems ridiculous how much we’re discussing basically the last guy on the roster. This is getting ridiculous. Just sign someone already and get it over with, please.
Deng/Boozer/Noah: All your rebound are belong to us.
We might have the most players at those spots
but there’s also more question marks. Like: Can Luol Deng stay healthy? Will Ronnie Brewer be good enough to start? Is CJ watson too much of a liability to get serious time at the two?
We are SET at the one. D Rose is the guy. Any serious injuries to him, and the season is over anyway. Might as well go fishing in the lottery and hope to get lucky. If the injury isn’t serious, I’ll be ok with Watson and John Lucas (or someone) holding down the fort.
I’m still not totally comfortable with the way things are looking at the two and three. It could very well be that we are fine there, but if we’re gonna add depth, I’d prefer it be someone that can play those positions, not the point.
Superteams suck.

This is also the reason I was semi interested in T Mac btw

Anyone we add at the wing isn't going
to make that much of a difference anyways, and either is House. Might as well bring in a guy that has a defined skill (three-point shooting) that we badly need.
And I’m not sure why you’re worried about Brewer not being good enough to start. He’s proven he’s a starter on a good team basically his entire career. I don’t get that one.
Deng/Boozer/Noah: All your rebound are belong to us.
I know he's good enough to start,
I just don’t know how good of a fit he’ll be on this team. I’ve watched a lot of Utah through the years, and they’re offense is incredibly precise. They have guys cutting and slashing multiple times on the same play to get a high percentage shot at the basket. Which is why Brewer was able to shoot such a high percentage. He was very good at that. Sloan doesn’t like the three point shot, he’d rather use it as more of a last option, and to keep teams honest. Which is why Brewer got so much run there.
I’m not sure that those skills offensively will be enough for him to earn major minutes on this team. It would have been nice to see him some more with the Grizzlies, to see how he played outside that system. I don’t think Thibodeu intends on running an offense like the Jazz. He keeps saying “inside-out”, which sounds like he prefers shooters at the three and four (the attempted Redick signing should give that away). We will need Brewer’s defense though. But will that be enough to keep him in the floor? I kinda have my doubts.
Superteams suck.

How are you not convinced that Brewer is good enough to start?
He started 223 career games for a perennial Western Conference contender over the past four seasons…while putting up a career PER over 15 and TS great than 57%…while playing solid defense for Jerry Sloan.
Thomas, Miller, Salmons, James, Pargo, Gray, MLE, and (there is no LLE thanks to the Pargo signing) will not be here with a Max Free Agent...don't get too attached.

I posted the exact reason why if you read a little further down
But basically, it’s not that I don’t think he’s good, I’m just not sure if he’ll fit very well on a team that desperately needs shooting.
Superteams suck.

Yep...
Posted before I read through…I can agree with some of your concerns, but I am comforted that Thibs specifically mentioned Lu shooting the corner 3 and Derrick saying he has developed a three point shot.

Yea, that will be the key for Brewer imo
If those guys can start hitting that shot, we don’t need another position to do it.
Superteams suck.

Having House and Korver spreading the floor with Rose driving and kicking would not be boring.

except if you put out a backcourt of rose/korver or house
we’ll get absolutely ass raped on defense.
house is short as hell and korver has been able to keep a 2 or 3 in front of him in his career
someone teach me how to get Sam Smith's job when he retires
Just sign Roger..the next thing close to Pargo
One good year and back to sucking!
House would be a perfect fit.
People who are saying it’s not exciting enough and they need to sign TMac need to look at the Allen Iverson signing last year. How’d that work out when he didn’t get the minutes.
But let’s not even bring up McGrady, that’s over. All we need from our last active roster spot is 3PT shooting. House is the best 3PT shooter left.
He can shoot plenty of them and does. It's the making them part that gives him trouble.
The Bulls will win 50 games this year and (hopefully) the Central Division for a top 3 seed.
by fundamentallysound on Jul 28, 2010 8:42 AM CDT up reply actions
we have a designated shooter in korver and watson aint that bad
why do we need 3 pure shooters? thats just a waste.
are you ever really going to put out a lineup that has house watson and korver out there?
anytime you have one of those guys out there its already going to be a liability on defense
someone teach me how to get Sam Smith's job when he retires
*backflips*
ohh yea! My life comes full sircle if a cli boy that went to ASU becomes a Bull =)
YAA!!!
(on a bummer note: we do need a 2/3 compared to house…but I still want him..badly. PAUSE)
