Chris Sheridan continues to be a Rose-hater/non-ballwasher. Here's an excerpt from his latest piece:
Russell Westbrook, G
His ability to play off the ball, which he did at UCLA, is huge. And his defensive tenacity and floor leadership have both brought rave reviews thus far.Rajon Rondo, G
The team will likely take five guards to Turkey, six if you include Durant. His inability to make free throws, or to play shooting guard, is a concern.Derrick Rose, G

Not sure what his deal with Rose is, but he never gives him any props. I find 2 things ridiculous here:
1. That Westbrook is apparently more of a lock than Rose (uhh...no)
2. He doesn't say a single thing about Rose's game or how he's performed, and merely pigeonholes him in with Rondo as a bubble guy. Thanks for the insight, Chris!
3. That only one of Rose/Rondo would make it because of him implying that they're "similar." What? They're not even remotely close to the same player. I think only one of Rondo/Westbrook should make it, with Rose being a lock along with Billups.
Sometimes it's like these writers don't even actually watch basketball.
Anyways, end rant. I'm really looking forward to watching D-Rose tonight. Hopefully he runs the team well, plays sound defense, gets to the line, and hits a few threes. Should be fun to watch.

He's got decent Team USA coverage, but I've never seen him say much good about Rose

I see Rose trying to be more of a facilitator & letting other guys do their things,
but with some bursts of offense here and there.

Nothing jaw-dropping or anything like that, but a nice, solid, efficient game.

It seems like he usually hangs back in events like these
but I’d like to see him explode for 25 points or so and say “that’s what’s up” to everyone trying to stop him tonight.

because the John Wall stuff this year is going to make you vomit. I’m already sick of the Westbrook nods over Rose as the better PG despite him playing with Kevin freaking Durant, but the John Wall comparisons and subsequent slights of Rose are going to make your head hurt.

that's my fav part of rose's game
he doesn’t need all that praise, and being slighted makes himp lay better. I’m not worried i’m just looking forward to the progress he should make this year.
Its quite obvious
that when D.Rose is matched up against any of those guys he dominates the matchup. In 4 regular season games this past year DRose averaged like 23 points a game on 53% shooting while Rondo averaged like 8 points on 37% shooting. Same with Westbrook, I seem to remember Rose crossing and dunkin on the whole Thunder team last time they played. To think Sheridan is constantly hating by not even acknowledging how good Rose really bothers me as a huge Bulls/Rose fan and as an educated NBA fan

Yeah, Chandler pretty much has to be on the team IMO
He’s the only true center that is actually a really good defender on this roster.

As far as the wing types go, to me I’d take Durant first (obviously) and then Iggy (defense) and Granger (shooting). Gay isn’t good on D and isn’t much of a 3-point shooter, while Wallace is great on D but an awful jump shooter. And then there’s Jeff Green who isn’t nearly as good as any of these guys.

Is it reasonable to conclude that Rose is the only PG on White
because they expect him to be the starting PG on the national team. It’s just odd that the other team has Chauncey, Rondo and Westbrook while Rose is his team’s only PG.

Yeah, that was my thought as well. Curry really isn't a true PG (especially for this team), even if he plays there for Golden State.

The basics of posting up and such he will need to know, but he already has a nifty array of turn around floaters and looks. He should work with Chauncey specifically on that if all possible.

Derrick Looks Good on Offense
But his defense is utterly abysmal. Westbrook blew by him on virtually every possesion he wanted to.
Rose blows by Westbrook and Rondo every possession. Does that mean they're abysmal on defense too?
Sometimes it’s impossible to stay in front of these guys no matter what. His team defense has been decent so far.

Agreed. He's been easily the best PG out there, and it's not even close.
He also appears to be the smoothest (and fastest) athlete on the floor. He’s really looking good out there.

looks kinda like the old bulls home jerseys from early 80's
i hope they don’t do anything else. i’ve always thought they have one of the best uniforms. that red is classic. plus the simple font. been rocking that look since ’85. but i do miss the ’96 road blacks w/ pinstripes. but no more changes. the Bulls uniforms have always been one of the better ones in the league.

Actually, I’d take Howard over anyone not named Lebron. The stuff he does is invaluable. Especially in today’s NBA where it’s so difficult to guard guys out on the perimeter. Having an amazing shotblocker is such a luxury. People give him too much shit for his offense, which isn’t even bad.

i dunno about better but id say he and melo are about equal.
melo has the size advantage and post game that durant lacks but durant has a better over all game in terms of playing both ends
