the Bulls go back to about $12 million left. My choices would then be Raja Bell, Matt Barnes, Brad Miller and Shaun Livingston.
Who’s our starting 2-guard out of that group?

Barnes would be a great pickup, but he is more of a 3 than a 2
If you like hard work and effort, he IS your guy.

It would have to be Raja Bell
which is pretty scary.
So…gotta say it: this sort of vindicates the Ben Gordon thing.

Too bad he's signing with the Lakers.

James Johnson
Just saw a picture of James Johnson in Las Vegas and he looks to be in incredible shape. Maybe about 20lbs lighter. Do you think the bulls might consider utilizing him at shooting guard? He was already extremely athletic when he was heavier and his athleticism should only improve at a lighter weight. He can handle the basketball extremely well. He has great vision and has three point range. At 6’8" 230lbs he could be a beast at shooting guard.
Rocky Rosado
Sam: That is my new project. I don’t think the coaching staff sees him quite that way, but I’d make that my summer league project. I don’t know what they’re doing with the summer league team, but I’d put him at shooting guard 30 minutes a game.
…
he loves putting too-slow guys at the two

guys don't get that much faster just by losing 20 lbs
ask aaron gray and his fan club around here.
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).
Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.
that has to be a joke
jj at the 2?

honesty
I believe the theory that JJ re-signing blindsided the Bulls. Take a JJ/Boozer summer, we have to move the team in Seattle in 3 years but next year would be potentially awesome.

Who could have expected the Hawks to offer him $120 million?
That contract is already considered by most to be the worst in basketball. Not a good thing if it was signed two weeks ago. I bet Johnson would have waited to sign if the Hawks hadn’t offered him the max that anyone could offer him. It would have been stupid for him to turn it down.
um, that's my point.

Ugh
The options are looking less and less palatable. Sam Smith isn’t the most trusted source though.
as much as
I wasn’t too high on JJ being the starting 2, if this is true, it’s putting a serious damper on things…our options are dwindling.
on the bright side...
if we run out of easy options, it might force the front office to actually make a trade for someone who’s better than what’s on the market. i’m holding out hope…
Magic will have to pay $14 million for Redck next year.
I’m not so sure they are going to match that. I’ll believe it when I see it, but just based on their luxury tax situation, i think it is unlikely they match Redick.

Jazz wanna sign both reddick and barnes aint happen
I say they sign barnes at a cheaper price…Everyones worried about J.J i think he will pan out he just needs time like noah did.He showed flashs last yr of being a decent player but vinny was the coah that says it all..
come on. reddick at 14 million?
no fucking way.
johnson at the 2? double no fucking way.
how is redick getting paid 14 million?
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).

He's not
The 14 million figure is the infused cost to the Magic. 7 million(estimate from “front loaded”) offer sheet and the additional 7 million in luxury tax payments.
I hope readers know that by now. For 14 million Redick better shoot 75% from the field and grow a moustache.
I can predict the future using Norm Van Lier's crystal balls.
