My favorite quote from the news conference

Is my new sig.

"You can't be afraid to play somebody because they've got 3 really good players. How are you going to win if you're afraid to play? We're not going to be afraid to play - we're going to fight, we're going to attack, we're going to throw it out there and see what happens." - Carlos Boozer

sounds like vinny is writing material for boozer.

"If I was to answer that question honestly, I would have to lie to you."

- Isiah Thomas, when asked if any teams were interested in trading for Shandon Anderson

It's not so much that I loved the bravado

It’s that he said exactly what I was thinking after LeBron went to Miami. I knew that my team wasn’t as good as the other team, but I felt like – our team is pretty good, and I’m ridin’ with my boys, win or (probably) lose.

It's so nice to have a coach who actually knows the game of basketball.

A few other things:

1. I like the on-court swagger and toughness Boozer brings us. Him and Noah are going to be a force together. And with Deng, we’ll be killing it on the glass (see my sig). I expect us to have the best frontcourt rebounding team in the entire league.

2. I think his game is a perfect fit with Noah. Boozer might not be a great defender because he’s not uber-athletic and he’s not especially tall, but he’s got a thick body and a strong core and is really good at holding his man in the post one on one. This will be a boon for Noah’s help defense, and I expect him to get more blocks this year (which is something Thibs has also mentioned).

3. While most people might be skeptical (and kind of rolleyes about it), I think they might be serious about Thibs saying Boozer was the #1 PF on his list. Given his style of play, I wonder if Thibs thinks Bosh is a giant wuss who wouldn’t fit well in his system. Just a thought. Boozer seems to have a mindset that Thibs likes, so it will be interesting to see if he can get any better on D at this age. It’s doubtful, but I think him and Noah will work well together.

4. I think Matt mentioned it before, but it’s nice to have a guy on our team with that “All-starry”-type presence. Sure, Boozer’s got his weaknesses, but he commands respect and a double-team on the court. I can’t wait to see him (and Korver, and hopefully Redick) open things up for Derrick.

5. Another thing I’m excited to see is Noah being even more active than ever on the offensive glass, since he won’t be used in as many PnRs with Boozer now in tow. Noah is going to be cleaning up offensive boards all day, whether it’s off a Rose or Boozer miss on the pick and roll (this is not to say that they won’t be scoring on many of them, but it’s a fact of basketball that they’ll miss as many as they make, if not more).

Deng/Boozer/Noah: All your rebound are belong to us.

screw it, i'm making this a fanpost

I think Noah will still get plenty of PnRs because he's pretty freaking good at them now. (He improved mightily on them last year).

Giving him the option of driving for the dunk or dumping it off to Boozer as Boozer’s guy rotates to help should make him even more effective, especially given his exceptional interior passing abilities.

2010 Offseason Motto: Get Greedy, Bulls. 1 top FA down (Thibs), 1 (or 2) to go.

I love thibs

Hey thibs give us a general gist about this player in this particular system…

thibs: Well…i dont know much right now, but…..[continues in great detail about specific scenerios for the next five minutes]……but really i have to work with the guys before i can put together something a little more detailed

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!
