Around SBN: Kobe Bryant Will Never Top Michael Jordan

I hope we sign this kid.... He would fit in nice next to Rose, LeBron, Bosh and Noah.

That would be a big ass team

Especially if we played Noah at the four and Asik at the five. He could be pretty good, looks like he has a nice shot. The one area that I do trust the Bulls is the draft. Free Agency is the big thing this year, anything they do with that pick I’ll probably be ok with. Would like a guard though.

Waiting to McHale

i know the DX guys are climaxing over this footage, but it didnt tell me much i didnt already

know from his highlight video and the stuff ive read about him. hes really long, pretty athletic, plays so smoothly its like hes not even trying, shoots well, stays too upright when he dribbles, is aware that he needs to be pushed and challenged, etc. and i still like the guy a lot. its just that hes probably going to go before 17 so that sucks…. in other news, babbitt has fallen back to 20 on DX, so im back on that train.

The biggest takeaway I got from the video part is that he definitely wants to be a 2-guard

When asked the question about watching the NBA playoffs, he specifically mentioned watching the footwork of 2-guards and how they create. Definitely a good sign.

Brad Miller is god.

Therefore, the Bulls will draft him to play SF and be disappointed when he continually tries to play like a SG.

In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).

Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

i still dont like his shot

he has a slow release, although i admit its smooth and i like how they showed some footage of a hand in his face while he shot (but is that college 3pt line not nba?) he has a really high release and with those arms and his 6’8 frame, well most 2 guards are gonna have to really jump to block his jumpers…

I guess they really were showing off his ability to shoot in this, the few footage of him actually doing something close to the basket (aside from that smooth dunking) also bothered me. The contested layup was alright i guess, he used a scoot playup while getting hit and i just wonder if in the nba that might get blocked quite a bit, and the footage of him posting up and then finishing, he got good position but the shot he chose to finish with i thought was lousy, some two handed floater that surely will get swatted away in the nba even by some guards (its at 2:05), after that theres the missed jumper play where he went for the dunk, and i guess it seemed weak, if there was a real big man (i dont think any of the guys hes playing with is actually as big or bigger than him) i dont think that dunk wouldve happened, would he have been able to finish at all, maybe draw the foul? I think in that instance i wouldve liked to see him do a reverse layup, go up on one side and finish on the other, with those long arms he could do it….

Ehhh….what the hell am i even blabbering about, what the hell do i know…

I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!

i think his release is a bit faster in game situations.

He's not going to be doing a lot of posting up

Even though as a 6’8" 2 guard it would be nice to have some moves. Plenty of time to develop a move or two if needed. He’s an excellent 3 point shooter and that’s where he’ll be needed most of the time. He’ll be more of a Joe Johnson type player, and I don’t see anyone complaining about JJ’s lack of a post up game.

Consider his role on our team

He won’t face a lot of shots one on one. He’s not going to create most of his shots for himself. He’s going to receive passes from Rose and he will be wide open. That release his slow and high, but defenders won’t be able to catch up to contest it.

I can predict the future using Norm Van Lier's crystal balls.

wide open catch-and-shoot 3's

he’d be getting tons of those with Rose/LBJ

He plays like a SG
