DP reports Carmelo was offered three year deal for $65 mil

If I was Melo, I'd wait and test the waters.

Whoever misses out this year would certainly want tot take a stab at Melo next year I’d imagine.

Plus, not sure how much longer Denver has a championship window. Billups isn’t getting any younger, and Melo needs another star by his side. Not sure what Denver’s cap situation (Martin’s contract sucks I believe) will be like going forward…

I think Ty Lawson is a budding star, or could be at PG.

With a new CBA looming, may not be a bad idea for Melo to take the money now

It will be found an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it.

Agreed, he could lose a ton of money by

not taking the extenstion, thats why Dirk, Pierce, even Salmons are opting out.

GM Danny Ainge thinks Celts could lose Pierce

Pierce might want a sizeable contract THIS year, but it’s hard for me to see him in anything but a Celts uniform.

E

so we can’t afford joe johnson

LeBitch and KG's constant showboating, chest pounding, dunking with one hand behind the ear, dancing, and pure and simple rubbing it in is so fucking annoying.

NBA Draft set in stone

The first few picks seem to be set already. Looks like Wall, Turner, and now Derrick Favors instead of the rumored Wesley Johnson. Johnson to the TWolves

Also, the Celts are dangling their 19th overall pick and Perkins for a higher pick. Probably won’t happen, that’s a bad deal for any lottery team.

Very bad,

Perkins has no offensive ability, and he probably won’t be the same defensive player with out KG.

by QUINTEN DALEY on Jun 24, 2010 10:09 AM CDT up reply actions

Except last year where he was terrific without KG

I can predict the future using Norm Van Lier's crystal balls.

He was playing Howard one on one

KG’s presence on the team didn’t help with that. His defense is real. He’s not a player you build your team around, though, so I don’t see any high lottery team making this trade.

no, but it's a fine deal for the 17th pick

lol. obviously they’re trying to trade higher than that.

Bosh on Sportscenter

“I think they factor into what everybody wants to do…
I think it’s kinda like waiting in line.”

“There’s a lot of interesting, different situations. That’s what makes tonight interesting, because a lot of teams are gonna try to clear cap space or just move guys around.
We’re going to have a better picture after tonight, I’m sure a lot of teams are gonna make some moves. I know I’ll have a better idea of where I want to go with which teams are built for a championship after tonight.”

typed as accurately as possible
said he may not sign right away
they showed pictures of him in different uniforms (holy crap he cut his hair. “It was time.”)
laughed at the Cavs uniform and didn’t say anything about the Cavs
on a Heats uniform
“uh. its OK. I look alright.”
laughed HARD at the Mavs “everytime I go back home, ‘COME TO THE MAVERICKS’, its crazy.”’
on going to hometown team, said he doesn’t want to go… on Lebron “its a little tough, its a problem that’s very unique.”

Bulls uniform:
“a lot of people are like YEAH! THATS WHERE YOU SHOULD GO! …I’m just trying to stay politically correct.”

Knicks uniform: “yeah. people are like, new York, gotta go there.”

didn’t seem to want one more than the other / did a good job of staying politically correct. Clearly not going to the Mavs (lol), seemed unenthusiastic about the Knicks and almost sarcastic about the Heat.

talking about the draft, talking about ridiculous draft outfits, looking at the draft of Joakim:
“Look at that, I don’t know him well, only hang out with him a few times, but look at him. That’s Joakim. He just loves to have fun.”
and he totally went old school and referenced Hakeem Olajuwon’s tuxedo when he was drafted.

basically nothing learned, but Bosh seems to be a cool dude.

And the guy on sportscenter said he was telling Chris Bosh where to go instead of vice-versa, and the host jokingly told Chris Bosh he was going to sign with the knicks.

if it matters any, he was in the Bristol Connecticut studio and not the LA Sportscenter one.

Had I known he was going to be there, I’d have driven the 30 minutes to my house to the studio and yelled “Bulls” to him in the parking lot.

And to settle with BaB-Bass, asked if he watched the Thibs press confidence yesterday. lol.

Unclear if he’s just jumping on McGraw’s story, but apparently that JOHN guy does know some people. Over at RealGM, Doug posted another JOHN rumor that said the Bulls were gonna sign Joe Johnson to a four year $60 mil dollar deal, and that JR is willing to go into the tax.

4 years $60 mill?

uuuuuuuuuuuugh. tell me there’s still more than enough space for Lebron, Asik, and maybe another player or two for depth.

4 year $60 mil for Joe Johnson + the rumored Kirk to Wiz deal going down would leave room for Lebron

And 4 years $60 mil for Joe Johnson would actually be pretty sweet.

Brad Miller is god.
