People on here act like its a given that the Bulls will at the worst get one big name free agent. Everyone seems to forget the 2000 free agent class which featured a home grown loyal guy (Duncan), an unhappy Raptor (McGrady), a young explosive guard from Florida (Billups) and a superstar on a playoff team (Grant Hill). This scenario sound remotely familiar? You can just replace Duncan with James, McGrady with Bosh, Hill with Amare and Billups with Wade.  Guess who the Bulls ended up with that summer, RON MERCER and Brad Miller.  I think there is a real possibility that we might not end up with either James, Bosh, Wade or Amare.  What is the back up plan if that happens.  Do the Bulls over pay guys like Lee, Boozer and JJ, not max guys in my opinion.  Or do they sign some role players (shooters/defenders) and wait to try to entice Melo away from Denver next year?  What is the feeling if the bulls do give max deals to Lee, Boozer or JJ?

This wasn't a post about the 2000 bulls, it was an alternative to what would happen if we miss out on the top 4 FA.  I personally don't want to pay the max to Lee, Boozer and JJ... Ill take my chances with the development of the current team and adding a few role players (Redick, Brewer, Haslem) and wait till next year.
