(UPDATE: Sam Smith disagrees) I can't stomach this Joe Johnson at Max Money!!!

[Note by your friendly BullsBlogger, 05/10/10 4:47 PM CDT : Sam Smith is still all about Joe Johnson]

Joe Johnson is going to ask for a max deal and if you've seen him play this offseason you probably don't think he's worth it.

I don't know if I did the fan post/fan shot thing right.  But I DO know that I've soured on the idea of Joe Johnson being the answer at the "2" for us.  Not at the type of money he's likely to ask for.  I'm convinced that Derrick Rose will be a better player moving forward without Joe Johnson at his side.  Plus, Johnson has looked downright awful at times in these playoffs.  I'd rather have John Salmons at his asking price than Johnson at what he's going to ask (although I don't really want Salmons back, I'm not joking about having him rather than Johnson at this point).

Am I alone in my thinking or do people still really want Johnson at max money?  One good thing though.  If Johnson came here then Luol Deng could breathe a sigh of relief because he'd no longer be the overpaid guy everybody talks about.
