I admit, I CANNOT get enough of the LeBron rumors
I wake up every day scouring the net for them. And I know they’re all lies. But I still LOVE them.
Here’s my latest revelation. LeBron isn’t coming to the Bulls. He’s going to New York. Let me explain why. LeBron is going to be hated in Ohio for the rest of his life if he leaves. He knows that. He knows it’s going to sting. But he knows he can’t win in Cleveland so he has to leave.
Here’s the thing. He can deal with Cleveland hating him for leaving. But he can’t deal with Cleveland DESPISING him. He can’t deal with Cleveland perceiving him as the devil. And that’s what they’ll do if he plays in Chicago. Cause leaving Cleveland is one thing. But leaving for the team that broke their hearts time and time again in the era where they had their best team? They’ll never forgive him for that. Lebron still has feelings. And he doesn’t want to be despised by the state he grew up in. Because the guy is going to come home numerous times in his life.
The other thing that worries me is this 30 million dollar house he has. This is a unique property. It ain’t like an oceanside Malibu residence with high resale value. The only person in the world who thinks an Akron property is worth 30 million dollars is LeBron James. There is no reason whatsoever for another rich person to own a place there. That makes the resale value, what? 5 million tops? So he’s going to eat 25 million dollars ON TOP of the 20 million he’s already eating by playing for another team? Or is he just going to leave it there unused? I mean, all that stuff is starting to make me wonder.
who says he has to sell it?
He wants to be a billionaire. “Team LeBron” could just live there during the season, and he’ll live there in the off-season. It’s still his hometown.

The resale value is not 5 million tops if it's worth 30 million.
There are rich people every where. Just because the town isn’t well off, doesn’t mean there aren’t at least a few rich people there.
And like E-Grizzle says, a lot of these guys don’t live in the town they play in. He’s worth hundreds of millions of dollars when it’s all said. He can afford two houses.

He'll be despised in Cleveland until...
…the next owner of the soon to be bankrupt franchise realizes there’s a bucket of money to be made in an up and coming basketball market like Seattle and moves the team. Kinda like what happened when the NFL gave Cleveland back the Browns (who have sucked ever since).
Dude, he's not going to buy a house before he signs.
He’s probably “house shopping” in 8 different cities.
In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).
Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.
he could buy 8 houses before he signs

He's doing this for the publicity
His ego is on par with Brett Favre. He demands 24/7 James coverage until he decides his fate.

The Lebron James team?
Does that mean Anderson Varejao was wearing Bulls gear. Tell that mofo to take that sh*t off.

Team Daley
was spotted wearing LeBron James sneakers while playing pick up ball and smashing our opponent by driving to the basket and making the 15-17ft jumper and neglecting the 3pt line on purpose, PER was very high, I’m going to try to calculate my TS% and my reb%
okay
ive read that 5x now, and i still have yet to figure out what the joke is…nay…i have yet to figure out what is being described….
whos team daley, a person or persons?
Who’s our opponenets?
Why is team daley driving to the basket and making 15-17 ft jumpers while neglecting the 3pt line on purpose? Is team daley actually deng? Hinrich? the bulls roster? what the hell is going on?
Finally why are you trying to calculate your ts% and reb%, what is your purpose?
what hell is going on in this post!!!
I dont care what the D.N.A. Says, the Guy wearing number 12 Cannot be Kirk Hinrich, he is definetly Kurt. Kirk can actually play basketball!
This is when the Kobe rumors peaked and it went down hill from there.
Once the Kobe was buying MJ’s house rumor got going then fun ended. I’ll never forget that season probably the worst I can remember. I will never view Dan Bernstien or his sources as viable. I believe he said he’s 80% sure Kobe will be traded they just have some things to workout.. then they got slaughtered buy the Nets and the rest is History.

I dug up some old Kobe-to-the-Bulls headlines after reading your comment
Here’s a doozy of a quote from Pax:
Speculation picked up Wednesday, with one report saying the Bulls, Sacramento Kings and Lakers were discussing a three-way deal that would bring Kobe Bryant to Chicago. That scenario had Paxson sending Ben Gordon and a signed-and-traded P.J. Brown to Sacramento, with Chicago’s Ben Wallace and the Kings’ Ron Artest heading to Los Angeles. Paxson dismissed the rumour, saying a deal involving Brown would send the Bulls over the luxury tax threshold — something they’re reluctant to do.
I didn’t remember the Bulls saying they wouldn’t pay the luxury tax to get Kobe. Oh my god that scares me.

And people question the pessimists on here.
I wanna rec this
and flag it at the same time for inappropriately trying to kill my off-season buzz with quality information that would seem to support the buzzkilling…

That's pretty damning
But we’ve always known that JR’s reluctant to pay the tax, but that doesn’t mean he’d never do it for a contender. If he wouldn’t do it to get Kobe, that’s pretty fucked up, but I have a feeling that that rumored trade never had any legs to begin with. I gotta believe Kobe would nix that deal since the Bulls would be pretty light on talent if they gave up Gordon and Wallace.
Brad Miller is god.
holy crap!!
Joakim on whether he ever tried tennis: "I played a little bit. If anybody on the Bulls wanted to play me, I would kick their ass."
Now I'm just getting worried
Why is it that only Bulls rumors are leaking? It seems as if the Bulls are just getting played at this point?
Also, people keep saying that this is just him using the Bulls to raise his stock/bargain/whatevers, but what is the point of that? He doesn’t need to bargain with anyone.
He can go to any team he chooses. He’ll get the max wherever he goes. That agrument makes no sense.
It’s still awkward that it’s all Bulls rumors
I agree.
Why is it that only Bulls rumors are leaking? It seems as if the Bulls are just getting played at this point?
And it’s kinda been like that all season. I just wish I could fast forward to July 1. This might be better pill after all this craziness.
Rumors to other places are happening too..
Look at the Eddy Curry phone call. You just happen to be a Bulls fan.

The Eddy Curry one JUST happened
Before that, what other major rumors were floating around involving other teams?
Eddy Curry knows how to use a phone?
I bet Dolan dialed.
Eddy probably told LeBron how his career fell apart in NYC and how James Dolan is locking him away like some type of Sloth from the Goonies. Eddy also could of told LeBron about living in Chicago the city which he is from and probably told LeBron about the circus and how Eddy wanted to be a gymnast growing up….
