[From the FanShots. Heck, why not dream when it comes to LeBron, batty Sam Smith is. -ed.]

Rose has a family emergency, will play tomorrow night.

Lebron says its not in response to Noah...yeah right; he just randomly professes his love for Chicago just days after Noah says Cleveland sucks!

Thank you sir, this has been corrected.

Thomas, Miller, Salmons, James, Pargo, Gray, MLE, and (there is no LLE thanks to the Pargo signing) will not be here with a Max Free Agent...don't get too attached.

Those guys are so dumb

they really thought he was making a joke. Don’t they know he’s a robot that doesn’t joke in interviews?

Joakim on whether he ever tried tennis: "I played a little bit. If anybody on the Bulls wanted to play me, I would kick their ass."

Part of me thinks

That he’s just saying that because Noah says he hates Cleveland. Another part of me thinks that he means it. so its 60%-40% for me

by T.Moore on Apr 21, 2010 9:00 PM CDT up reply actions

Nah he means it and he does joke in interviews sometimes but he was just partying here like a month or so ago.

Iunno why they’re laughing really people talking about Chicago "greatest city in the world and Cleveland is the “mistake by the lake”. Buuut hey

jesus, the fuck?

i mean, i know you laugh more when surrouned by other people laughing, but that ain’t even a bit funny. no wonder lebron has an inflated sense of himself.

Sam Smith is batty.

for real. Will all the LeBron fawning stop after he pens his contract? or does he sign another 3yr just to keep the fawning going and to keep all teams weak while clearing cap space for the magical summer of 2013.

Bosh or Bust

by JockstrapNoah on Apr 21, 2010 4:58 PM CDT reply actions

batty as he may be

lebron + rose + noah + deng would be nearly unbeatable, and for quite some time.

lebron + wade + beasley + ?

or…. lebron + griffin + kaman + davis + ?

maybe i overrate the bulls guys, but this looks like the best short term and long term sign on.

I'd say

Lebron plus Wade and fillers trump everything else….just because Wade too is that good….

But I don’t see Lebron going to Miami to make less money than Wade, and i don’t think the Heat have anything that would entice Cavs as in the at least get something back sign and trade compensation.

But I do think the youth, with the city and everything else in Chicago, we could be the most viable option and best option for LBJ if he were to leave (since I don’t see him playing second fiddle).

You can't bank on getting a HUGE contract

after the new CBA comes into effect after next year’s likely lockout. I think all these FA’s are going to sign max-$ & max-year deals this summer, with their current teams, or otherwise.

I hope he keeps signing one-year deals

just so the Knicks have to keep their cap space open

Sam isn't crazy

The only thing crazy is the idea of LeBron leaving Cleveland.

He makes solid points that everyone has echoed throughout this year.

It’s a fact that if you took James off the Cavs, our talent outweighs theirs and is much younger with room to grow.

But there are other factors that come into play obviously. Does he wanna be the biggest thing to ever happen to NY? Does he like the idea of joining Wade and having arguably the best 1-2 combo in sports history? Does he like the idea of being the savior of a team like the Clippers? And does he want to play in the shadow of MJ?

If it’s all about winning for him, which he claims … Chicago brings you the best hope for rings for many years to come … and in a huge market. But who believes LeBron anymore? He’s a pathelogical liar that loves the attention, which is what made his Noah quote so freakin’ funny

Okay, the vacation thing was kinda funny.

In the past 10 years, just four team owners have not paid a luxury tax and are not on pace to pay one this year: Donald Sterling, Jerry Reinsdorf, Chris Cohen (Golden State), Bob Johnson (Charlotte).

Two owners’ teams averaged an operating income of over +$10 million per year while their teams have lost over 60% of their games: Donald Sterling and Jerry Reinsdorf.

by tyger1147 on Apr 22, 2010 8:23 AM CDT reply actions

It would've been funny if he meant it in the way that they thought he meant it

but I don’t think he meant it to be a Noah thing at all. Maybe my signals are crossed or something, but that just seemed like an accident, judging by how quickly he backtracked and tried to clarify himself.

We talkin' about practice? Practice???
Post-practice entertainment was a low-key shooting session with Jannero Pargo, Hakim Warrick and Rob Kurz. Pargo can still hit 10 3-pointers in a row like it was nothing, but is 0 for 1 in the series, playing just 2 ½ minutes in Game 1.

And in games, Pargo can still miss 10 3-pointers in a row like it was nothing.

My favorite quote from Smithy

Is him pooh-poohing the Cavs front line saying

Shaq was ineffective and you wonder if the one day of rest, which he’ll see more of in subsequent rounds, isn’t enough. There are two day breaks before games 3 and 4 in this series, which should benefit O’Neal.
Suddenly, if Anderson Varejao isn’t having a big game—and he doesn’t score, anyway—the front line looks overmatched.Noah ran them and outworked them badly and Taj Gibson out toughed them with 11 points and seven rebounds.

/head explodes

If we aren't careful, the leanness we now feel will be the starvation of those we serve.

by Chi 'Till I Die on Apr 22, 2010 12:08 PM CDT reply actions

eh..

Taj hasn’t been terrible in the series so far. It’s not completely out of the realm of reality to say that he is playing tough. But the way Sam fawns over him, I can see the frustration…

by NormVanBeer on Apr 22, 2010 3:25 PM CDT up reply actions

My problem with Sam is that it almost seems personal

the way he goes after these other teams, he just rips everyone else’s players to death while he pretends that someone like Taj is the next Shaq. It’s almost like he’s on the Bulls payroll… oh, wait a minute

hah

no he just gets on an elliptical and starts panting after about 10 seconds with his mouth hanging open. Funny story..

I was playing ball a couple months ago and ended up rolling my ankle so bad that it caused a hairline fracture (a dude stepped on it as I was landing from a floater and actually tore my big toe nail off in the process — yeah, painful) and as I was hopping on one foot into the locker room I ran right into him and almost knocked him over. the look on his face was what I imagine it would look like if Taj one day just shouted “muthafucka!!!” at him.
