"Chicago is a great city," James said. "It's one of the best cities you have in America. From lifestyle to sports town, it's a great city. I know that. You guys know that. Everybody knows that."

I’ve never seen a time like this in sports. Its constant flirting for 2 years for this next off season. Its still funny to me because I think Lebron/Wade/Bosh love how people are flailing to every comment they make about another team.
I like this splash of cold water.
Would James want to keep playing here?
“I’m here,” he said. “They can see me until I catch the plane.”
he wont even try to play the coquette with us? why not? what does he have to lose? damn him.
"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."
That doesn't sound like a no to me.
Merely a non-committal joke intended to avoid stirring up the media.
Brad Miller is god.
lebron was asked if hed like to be a teammate for rose and his response was that
it might be possible… on the olympic team.
"Oooohhh, cat in the wall, eh? Now you're talkin' my language."
Fuck Lebron
I really don’t care what the hell he does. I’m not so jaded and desperate in my sports world that I have to hang onto this idiot’s every word like he’s some sort of deity. Sure, it would be nice to have him, but even if we did land him, he would never be “ours” like Michael was “ours” and D Rose is “ours”. We would just be another stop along the way in his little basketball soap opera.
Perhaps that’s a stupid way to look at it, but people make far too much out of the “We have to win a ring!” mentality that is repeated ad nauseum all over the place and especially on this site. If we are ever lucky enough to win a championship with guys like Rose and Noah, it would feel 10 times more special than if we just went out and traded and payed for a bunch of mercenaries this summer. That’s not to say that we should never bring anyone new in, I’m not that naive, just to say that too much emphasis is being put on the bottom line. Even though we haven’t won a ring or probably won’t even make the playoffs for that matter, I’ve still had a ton of fun watching this team.

It's only fun to me because there might be hope this summer to land a top player.
If the free agent class was like filled with Manu Ginobili’s then I would have mostly given up watching this. If you enjoy watching VDN fuck shit up thats your deal. But if they don’t land a top guy like, Bosh, Boozer or Stat… I’d be really disappointed. LeBron is the only player that DOES guarantee a title. So get used to it.
I highly doubt anyone outside of LeBron in the FA class can bring a title to this city. Maybe Wade. But the Bulls can be competitive at least. Like the Jazz of the East. If thats what floats your boat. Sometimes I feel like people just wanna be entertained which is fine but I would mind being title contenders.
I think you kinda missed the point of what I was saying
I wasn’t trying to rip you or the post, I read the same quote earlier and was actually considering posting it myself. I absolutely understand the need for this team to improve it’s talent level in order for them to compete for a championship, which is what I think we all want.
What I was trying to say (and I think I chose a bad post to say it on) was that it doesn’t always have to be solely about that one thing. I, for one, take great joy out of watching young players like Rose and Noah slowly craft their games and become better players, even if the result of the games is not what I want them to be.
The NBA is not the NFL where your fortunes can change in a moment or MLB where a little financial flexibility can buy you a championship . In order to be an NBA fan you kind of have to resign yourself to the fact there really isn’t a quick fix, which is actually probably one of the strengths of the Bulls organization, even though we, as Bulls fans, might not want to see it that way. Sometimes it just takes a little luck.
I KNOW that Lebron is the best player in free agency as well as the one most likely to deliver a championship (although I don’t think it’s as cut and dry as you put it). But I think if your only goal as an NBA fan is to get that championship, you’re kind of missing the point of this league, and you’re probably gonna be disappointed more often than not.
I like the players on our team and think we have a really nice group of guys that hopefully, eventually (combined with some nice additions) can get us a ring. But in the meantime, I don’t need to have my ego massaged by some phony who thinks our city is nice, I already knew that, and I sure as shit didn’t need to hear it from him.

Maybe it is phony but I get what you're saying.
It’s all good. Trust me I’d rather see a team grow together throw draft picks and win a title like the 90’s team. I think thats the purest kind of title. You drafted well and you developed a titles team. Those teams are always fun. I don’t like LeBron’s bigger than life ego but is what it is.
I know what you mean though. I just thought I’d document what he said.
You need a Jordan to win like the 90s team.
I saw T2 at Walgreens in Deerfield he’s tall. if you’re wondering what his grocery list included: magnums, french vanilla ice cream and a 20 oz sprite

To be more accurate, you need a Jordan, a Pippen, and a Rodman.
Go Rockets/Nets[CDR]/Bucks[Jennings]!
A Kukoc and Paxson wouldn't hurt either.
Go Rockets/Nets[CDR]/Bucks[Jennings]!
This is fantasy.
In one case we had Grant, Paxon, Cartwright, Armstrong and the like, in another Kukoc, Rodman, Harper and some other scrubs; but you need Jordan (and as I missed Pippen). Obviously you couldn’t surround those players with absolute crap, but lets not abstract too much.

Rec Juiceboxjerry's post simply for the title of "fuck Lebron"
All your base are belong to Vinny.
WTF, VDN, WTF?
I agree totally
I’ve always felt this way, but I’m not eloquent enough to put it into words like you have here. This sums up all my feelings about Lebron.

Yeah this is how I feel as well but in my case I don’t wanna say I don’t care about championships. Winning just isn’t everything to me competing or actually moving forward with the team is.
I still think we’ve taken steps back and borderline gave up on this season which I don’t like. I think you approach even the buisness side like the sport aggressively.
Anyway I like the idea of some players actually staying with their teams though I wish more players would be able to stick with their teams.
Like Hedo with the Magic they were really fun last year or Gordon with us I thought I’d get use to him being a Piston but it feels like theres something unfinished.
I really could care less about the "ours" concept
I just can’t wait to watch good basketball. Without signing one of the top free agents (LeBron, Wade, or Bosh) I would not feel confident about this team moving forward, especially with the shitty management.

the pitfalls of not using "paragraphs", "sentences",
or the most damaging absence … “words”.
Go Rockets/Nets[CDR]/Bucks[Jennings]!
OK, I guess you do use sentences and words
just hard to notice sometimes, and you don’t use too many. Fairly sure juiceboxjerry got recced because he made points people agreed with instead of just typing random things.
Go Rockets/Nets[CDR]/Bucks[Jennings]!
